"This impacts almost all ofthe combat professions: Now when you knockdown a creature or NPC, they'll stay down for a couple of seconds. If they are dizzy, they'll probably fall down again trying to stand back up (and will stay down for a couple more seconds).


This will be on TC soon if it isn't already, and will bein the next publish. Enjoy."


This is from a dev thread called "You can put your knockdown attacks back on your toolbar. "


Obviously this isn't the old KD, but I think that's a good thing. At least it willhave use again (hopefully). It's not out on the test center yet, but should be after this weekend. Check it out or I'll let you know how it works after it's implemented there.

Like I said, it's not actually out on TC yet so I'm EXACTLY sure what it will end up doing. But my impression from reading that post is that they will stay down a little bit longer instead of getting up instantly, and dizzy will work again (it currently doesn't workin PvE).

well they reduced sweep timer to 5 seconds in case noone has noticed but its still useless for the ham costs.


was that a stealth patch i saw it go to test server but its on normal server now also


who in the heck is developing this its a joke they take away major strengths and replace it with this trash

You really don't know what you're talking about. This change isn't even out on TC yet let alone on both via stealth. We have to wait before we can actually use it before we can call it trash.

Err, isn't this exactly how it works currently? You knock something down ad they're down for a few seconds, but never long enough for you to get more than one hit in at best..


And the dizzy thing, that sounds just like it used to work, before they nerfed it last patch..

well u cant say i dont know what im talking about i told u a fact i can knockdown around every 5 seconds and also i know whats on test server thats why i was surprised to be able to knockdown more often thats why i asked if it was a stealth patch

oohh and since sweep is useless i never use it was just testing it again after hearing what went to test server and was surprised to be able to do it more often so for all i know it could have changed anytime from when they did the big KD nerf thats why i made it more like a question in my post was looking for answer not people saying i dont know what im talking about

I am not bashing this or anything....


But if they stay down twice as long(really no big deal unless they KEEP falling) we gotta waste a move n our ever so slow spin attacks to dizzy them...pray it hits.....it the 200 or so HAM costs.....wait patiently for our next move....Sweep.....pray it hits(it really does come down to this).....pray they don't resist it(this is fair for TKA who can KD 5X faster)......by the time you DO knock them down they will usually have worn off their dizzy....YAY!!!


Our class was made for 2 things. KD and area damage....


we have 6 area attacks i can think of and 3 Knockdown moves....


Our area attacks are SO slow and do some 200-300 HAM Damage to us....then we mis 1/2 the targets and stand there like reatards getting beat up(rather badly) by 2+ targets that we CAN'T even hit....and in between getting beat up by the enemies we stop to whack ourselves in the nutts with our stick for ANOTHER 200-300 Damage and miss them.


The point is.....1/3 of us never worked in the first place and the other 1/3 was taken and not replaced. They make something wrked that should have worked before but was never that great anyway. We get 1/10 of our 1/3 that never worked back....


and of our 1/3 that always worked our -50 modifers just about halve that(since we in effect mis 1/2 the time)


Boys.....we are now running at 18%......THANK THE DEVS FOR THINKING OF US!


That 15% was killing us.


Next year maybe we can get block up and running and boost it to 20% YAYAYAYAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!


(block has worked for me...but i counterattack more than i block and i don't even have any counter attack skill mods.....just becouse we block sometimes, dosen't mean it is working; EVERYONE blocks counterattacks and dodges now for some weird reason....but without doing more of the one you have the boosts for)

I read this in the Development forum as well. Also seems to be some other good melee balancing coming up! Can't wait to see the changes over in TC. I think it will be a great change.


As for all of the unconstructive rant posts about all of our crap not working, why don't you try being a little more constructive and maybe someone will take you seriously.


There are a lot of great suggestions on the boards for balancing melee and pikeman combat. I suggest reading through the development board - especially concentrating on the posts by the devs (Holo and Q).


Let's be honest.Yes, being able to solo a lair of baz nitches at 0-0-1-0 is outrageous (pre KD-nerf). Yes, the KD nerf was extremely TOO harsh. Yes, the devs are looking at it and trying to balance it to make it fair. No, pikemen do not have enough players on Test Center. Let's get ourselves out to TC if we want to be heard!

I think its reasonable to be a little bitter. Most of us had been relying on KD to make up for the class's deficiencies, and they took that away from us without putting anything in its place. That sucked.


That being said, I like where they're going with this change. I'll have to break out my old Sweeping Staff and try outour area dizzy.

The new TC Monthly patch promises lowerd HAM costs for us, Hope its better than what it was last time (250-10=240 whoopdee doo) I think they also said somthign about changeing vibro components in weaponsmith so our accuracy may be fixed (HALLELUJEA!!!) And a hint tomore melee weapons.......Could this mean better poles?!?
