Hey this is good ol Durwyn from the Bria server if any of you know me.
I check the pikeman forums once and a while and read up on whats going on. I hear alot of crying and sobbing about how much Pikeman sux. I just figured i put in my 2 cents being a master pikeman myself.
1) it does suck to level up pikeman cause are class is screwed up in more ways than one.
2) But with help from friends you will eventually get master and then you will be the hardest hitting melee class out there!
I myself , with a 4.5 sec LVA can hit just about every second at master. Ive found some good polearm speed skill tape and im at 100 speed so i hit really fast. And most ranged users i can incap with one hit, all i have to do is use lunge2 and its over. Bounty hunters with eye shot? Piece of cake, lunge 2 takes em out real fast and if that fails, delay the sucker for 20 secs with warcry2 then break him in-two. and dont forget our action bleed, i can bleed people in PVP for over 800, one hit bleed then spam leghit its all over

ok im no pikeman but ive been helping a pikeman friend of mine and from what ive seen the damage output is great but defences are too low, ham costs a lot and hits not enough...
have hope pple these are not hard things to fix

A person above me said that swordsman hit harder than we do, but that is not tottaly true. My LVA does 137-475 damage at 4.0 speed and in PVP i doe massive damage ( PVE= i do a averedge of 5000-10000 and in pvp i averedge 500 easy). When i said Lunge 2 incaped in one hit I was talking about against ranged users like the bouhnty hunter that i was talking about. Lunge 2 can also be used to continually hit a ranged user as he runs away from you even tho it doesnt knock him down it does massive damage. So far the last 10 or 12 duels against a ranged user ( or getting attacked from an imperial) i have either incaped in 1 or 2 hits with lunge 2, or i would use lunge 2 and it would knock them down and then i would hit them with polearmhit3 and its all over, ranged charcters suck against a master pikeman with master brawler under his belt. As for the damage that someone criticised earlier, i do about 500 damage every hit and i hit just as fast as a teras kasi master if not faster because my polearm speed is 100 because of some good skill tape i got ahold of.
Now as for pikeman against other melee classes. Its a little bit harder because of our toughness, it sucks, but its not impossible. Here is where you get divided from the people who have skill and the people who just role with the roleplay. I have beaten many master fencers, master swordsman and master teras ka artists in PVP, its takes a little luck but its not impossible. As for those guys who mix up TKM with other elite melee classes like having all the other classes defences , they are alot harder but still, its easy to do. As long as i can get in the first hit against a hybrid melee ( as i like to call them) then i can win it, same thing with a TKM if i can get in the first move its all over. example- Warcry2= 20 second delay- then my leet bleed macro=800-1200 bleed on the action-if they try to run i hit them with a macro i have that knocks them down dizzys and intimidates which by then the awsome bleed has already taken most if not all of their action bar, which they cant heal because they are delayed. Now for ranged users i just lunge 2 them to death, usually ( 9 times out of 10) its a one or 2 hit incap.Another example would be the fact that i solo nightsister elders and spell weavers easy. Now if any of you know who and what they are, you should understand their difficulty.
Anyways my point is if you use the class wisely , with a little luck and some fast movements, you will prevail.

I still don't get the gist of this post. Pikeman is awesome because of a master brawler move? Any high level elite melee or low level TKA with master brawler could just as easily solo nightsisters because warcry2 and intimidate2 are extremely powerful.
A swordsman with a powerhammer will do more damage with lunge2 than a pikeman witha LVA. The ranged person has to be dumb enough to get within lunge range anyway.
I don't think pikeman are awful, but we are definitely outclassed in most situations.

5000-10000 avg dmg in pve? Sorry, our avg is 2k-4k.
Soloing nightsisters? Maybe when 3 AT-ST and a few grauls do the work for you.
Pvp dmg avg? Depends on armor really, but I'd say 500 is reasonable.
You have Master brawler which helps, but it doesn't help by the amount of number's you're telling us.

Awww now, what's with the butchering of my name? Is that really necessary? hehe...doesn't even make sense. I'd like to see a screenshot -you have to admit that the claim of being faster than TKA is hard to believe. Especially with a 4.5 speed LVA, as you said you have. If you can somehow show this in a screenshot I'd love to see it, and a screenshot of you soloing a nightsister elder, too...although itmight be inconclusive at best, I think, because there is now way you can reallyproove that you actually soloed.
