ah...... but if you like pvp you can collect DOTS making yourself a mean pikemen pvp killer machine.

Get yourself some armour(at least 80% resists) some dots, and see how same said swordsmen(or most swordsmen for that matter) stacks up.

ive noticed somting though, my friend is a master heavy swordsman and i am a master pikeman and we go krayt huntnig a lot, anyway in order to clear out some room in the graves we fight dragonets, and he stand at the nest (buffed) and just does area attacks on the nest and it gets all the dragonets as they come to him now he could spend about 5-10 minutes doing this, where if i go and try it i kill em all in about 2 using pole area 2, so i think the key here is speed as far as beating swordsman.

What type of creatures were you attacking?

People have to remember that Pikeman seriously lack good damage type weapons.

Your friend the swordsman was doing blast damage if using a powerhammer.

As a pikeman, we do kinetic or electricity ( or if you are really lucky energy).

Now that is something we need to talk to Gunman about.

She was using a 2-handed sword (kinetic, medium AP), and I was using a LVA (kinetic, medium AP). I guarantee my LVA was a higher damage weapon

We were fighting mostly things like Prowling Gurrecks, Arachnes, and blurrgs. She outdamaged me blow for blow, almost, and as basically a Novice Swordsman, compared to my lengthy Pike experience, it was quite depressing <wink>

And I never pvp.

Two handed curved swords are nasty weapons. If you get a good speed-sliced one (or have speed mods from the swordsman tree and a good damage one) you can do some wild damage /second.

Having leveled swordsman in a few chars now, I can tell you that it has to be one of the highest dps weapons in the game.

But you *should* be able to beat it with the Pikeman's best weapon at Master Pikeman - especially when they're a 0-1-1-1 Swordsman using Area 1

Just one more little discrepency, of many.

That sword blows everything else in the marksman/brawler trees away.

AP2 max dmg of over 200 AND a speed of 2.5 or so.

You can't beat that with a stick.

ya just gotta get some nice speed attachments. but there seems to be a shortage lately with all the nublets snagging em. I wish i could get my hands on an energy lance. I like how us pike weilders have to call apon our friends to get them because the hardcore nightsisters hav e 100% to electricity and kinetic

nah Congo, we can kill them.

You just need a very hefty dose of medic and a very strong set of dot pikes. With my 200 Health fire and my 200 health dot pikes I took one down 60K pts yesterday alone.

Then it beat me like I was a little girl with a KD and a meaaaan mind shot after a muon downer but hey.
