All I know is that I spent umpteen hours enjoying the process ofbecoming a master pikeman. I love my profession and am saddened by the fact I am not competent in PvP battle. (PvE is fine, due to area attack - boring - with immobile and relatively dumb combatents). Why can't we be as revered as a TKM? Where is my chance to shine? I just want a fighting chance. How is it that having a large, powerful (suposedly) and yet graceful weapon is a DISSADVANTAGE in battle. Pike is my first love, and I feel I must betray this in pursuit of competiveness. The thought of becomming another of the countless TKM's makes me feel down, as if Ihad consumed all the spices in China. I look good, I have a swagger about me, but I am a paper tiger.

And how many of those pikes are crafted?
A DoT applicator is not the same thing as a pikeman.

Ummm, I dont know if this is a necro post... but TKM has sucked in pvp for some time now (as far as damage output goes... they can still stick some nice states and KD). Find yourself a few good mind fire pikesand then see how bad you are in pvp 
Top that off with master rifleman or master swordsman, and you are very tough to beat.
As for a dot applicator not being a pikeman... that is absurd. Any profession uses the best equipment they can get. Riflemen use jawas in pvp normally because they do the most dmg due to lack of stun layer or only 40% or less stun layer. Are they not "real" riflemen unless they use a sub-optimal weapon? Most damage pikes are not adequate to do real damage in pvp, and polearms happen to have the best DoTs in the game, so we use them.

Or you become a pikeman to use them.

i totally agree....
I personally only use DOTs if someone has melee mit..... sorta makes my weapons hit for 30 points if i can connect

Im on that server, and i saw him duel once. Slapping on fire DoTs doesnt involve much skill bro =P
