Thread: New pikeman and NS elders

Greetings everyone, I'm somewhat new to the noble pikeman profession (3112 right now). I've been messing with all sorts of professions since I started, and I finally think I found my niche with the big stick. 
Anyway, I was just wondering how you all deal with NS elders since they are 100% to anything we can do. Right now, I hunt with a swordsman buddy with a hammer and I've noticed that their kinetic resistance starts to degrade as he damages her. I'm assuming that's because his damage is causing the degradation. If I'm not with him though, it seems I'm pretty much out of luck. Do you guys have a trick for dealing with these wicked ladies, or do you just use the "swoopbike escape" move like I do?
Oh, and I know about DoTs, but I'd really rather notdefile this noble profession by having to resort to such tactics. But would a fire/poison DoT actually hurt these mobs enough to lower their kinetic resistance enough for my LVA blows to get through?
I suppose my other option would be to pick up enough carbineer to use a laser. I'd rather stay a pure pikeman if possible though.

There is one pikeman weapon that can be used against elders and thats the energy lance.
The energy lance is very expensive/hard to get and it's not very good.
Best way to deal with elders is to go swordsman.

try picking up a side profession such as Commando, rifleman, or swordsman. Although I recommend commando, because you can stack your burns and then switch to your pike and don't have to spend 10mil on speed tapes.
With Master Commando/Master Pikeman I take down elders in a little under 10min

Actually a Pikeman can damage "some" elders. If you notice Elders vulnerabilties vary. Sometimes they are Blast/Electrcity and some times they are Blast/Energy I myself have taken down elders with a Vibro Lance, took about an hr but it is possible.

That would be a Spiderclan elder, which is the same as a NS elder in everything but name and resists. True NS elders all have the same resists.

Uh no NS Elders at the Stronghold DO NOT have the same resistances at least on Chilastra they don't. I would say one out of every 4 has a electicity vuln.

Care to produce a screenshot of a nightsister elder with electricty vulnerabilities?
It's not that I question your honesty, but I've never seen nor heard of a NS elder with anything but 100% resists to kinetic and electric (unless damaged, in which case every resist gets lower), and no other mob in the game has variable resistances.

never in all my days of hunting nightsisters have I seen an elder that can be damaged by anything other than blast, energy, or lightsaber, at least until it's around 3/5 of the way dead and starts losing it's resists

I have never run into a NS elder without electric resists. I cant hurt them with any of my weps.

Every NS Elder I've seen in this game has 100% electricity resists.
You can take an elder down with action bleeds, action poison and action fire, but it will take 45 minutes. To kill elders, you should just take up swordsman.

How are you managing to stack burns since you can only do one with the flamethrower since the DOT nerf a few months back?

Wrong, dots from flame still stack, as does bleeds and all the rest. Try it if you dont believe me. I used to use mindshot 1 + 2 bleeds after the 'nerf' all the time.
