I can no longer bear SOE's cross, and I am leaving the role, weather they release me or not. I appologize to you, the players. I had intended to give up this role a month ago, as I wanted to get to more playing and get another person's perspective as the correspondent, other then me. I am now leaving for the army, and SOE has not even responded to my request to leave the position, or the other message sent about our profession's woes. Perhaps in 3 month's time, they will realize that I am no longer on the boards, and replace me. /sarcasm off...

I do intend to stay on the board until the day I ship, and try to sort things out on the boards before I go, but after that, I will be off for a long while.

Once again I appologize to the fellow players, and accept all the flames that I may get from this post, but I say in my defense, that I tried to do my job and my ship out date cannot be changed. Perhaps I will see all of you on the board in a few months when I get out of basic and they give me free time to play the game. I am sorry that I cannot stay with you guys in these hard times, but you guys will get over it, and perhaps I will be forgotten, as we are all to be replaced by the younger generation of players. The ones buying the game now, and starting out their polearm class. I hope to see some of you on in the future however, and perhaps we can all sit down on one server someday and laugh about old times.

To those who are and will one day be a pikeman, Our existance may not be easy and our profession may not be favored, but I can tell you that as long as we exist, they cannot kill our class, or break our spirt.

Good luck Silver. I'm sorry to see you resigning as the Correspondant. And even sorrier to know SOE wont acknowledge it. Hopefully you'll be back safe and unharmed and by then they'll have beefed us up, you'll come back to see Pikemen running around with peoples heads on sticks and player-ewoks who are Master Pikeman with +20 to all polearm skills (Base for ewoks) and +20 to Rock-Throwing!

After trying my hardest to hunt baz nitches tonight with my friends (a 4/0/2/2 pikeman here) and being the ONLY one to constantly die, I'm angry. I'm even angrier that the devs are completely ignoring us while stating in a quaint and innocent fashion that they MAY have overpowered commandos a bit. It simply boggles the mind that people can so royally screw up what is, in reality, just a handful of combat classes. Surfer, you did a great job, and really, you stayed a lot longer than I thought you would. Personally, I would've gotten upset quite a while ago and left. Props to you for sticking it out, just very unfortunate that these people choose to run their company (and I use that term loosely) this way.

I can see the dev's reasoning, though.

"Hey, Bob, uh, we haven't told the pikemen anything."

"That's because there's nothing to tell, we've got more important things to do."

"Shouldn't we at least tell them that we're not dealing with themat the moment, but will eventually get to them?"

"Well we can't tell them anything NOW, we've been ignoring them too long. Admitting that we've been doing so will just get them even angrier. The only thing to do at this point is to pretend they don't exist."

P.S. For those wondering, the reason I kept dying was because new baz nitches that spawned at the lairs would ALL focus on me - not the pet rancors that my friends at melee range next to me, nor even my ranged allies who were, in fact, attacking the lair while I was not even TOUCHING it. The only thing that let me keep my sanity was the fact that death in this game means little more than a 35 second walk back to the action. I consider those baz nitches the epitome of SoE's representation - "Hey, look, there's a pikeman. Ha ha, let's screw him over and make his life miserable, but let everyone else actually have a chance."

To hell with anyone's opinion Silver. You cared toomuch and don't deserve this punishment/job as correspondent. You still sound too involved, forget this board and handle what really matters now, which is your life. If you are being called into service, you have no obligation here what-so-ever. Enjoy the free time you have left, and when you leave, you make sure to stay safe and healthy. Anyone even thinks about flaming you here, reveals their age or lack of intelligence to understand what it is you have to face in your life now. Like I said brother, forget this board. Good luck to you, and make sure you come back safe...

What we have going is exactly what Commandos did. I've been directing people to it ingame and from other forums (Melee/Commando/server(mine))

Someone just mentioned something about heads on Pikes. Maybe thats what they are for. They are certainly not for fighting.
