Thread: Pikeman and hit 3 Is it fair?

Is it fair that our main most damaging mulitplier attack in hit3 is also a posture change? We can't use our main attack otherwise we blow our dizzy knockdown/posture. We've got an area posture, we've got an area knockdown, why must our main damaging attacking be a posture as well? Hopefully the combat balance will adjust this.

I understand what you're saying, I'm just saying I disagree with our main attack being a posture becuase once we do dizzy knockdown we're forced to use a lesser attack otherwise we'll posture them back to their feet. This needs to be addressed.

I'd rather see them leave the posture down on PH3 and just fix the bug that makes it raise a knocked down target.

I'm also ammused that it's only a 4.0 mulitplier while all other hit 3s in melee are 5.0

I'm amused that everyone used to complain that we had a 3x damage mod and everyone else had 4x, and now that we're at 4x we complain everyone else has 5x.

Swordsmen have 4x, TKA have 4x, fencers supposedly have 5x.

They really need to fix the posture up when someones down. I hate that. When someones knocked down postures shouldn't have an effect.

Agreed, when you have a jedi on the ground and stated/dotted up, you cant even use your dmging move with your dmg lance otherwise youll getup him and let him fr3 away.

don't know why i'm telling you guys this. notice that hit 3 spreads out over all 3 ham bars. although it shows the biggest numbers, its not always the best move regardless of posture.

I am still suspicious about this so-called "bug". I think it could very well have been intentionally added by the devs to stop people from loading up their combat queue with KD moves until one successfully landed, like we do with intimidate.

I agree with you.

That said, I've actually found Hit3 and posture change very helpful in PvP. Most defense stacker types have niceresists against knockdown but very few haveresists to posture change. When you have a dizzy on someone and want them to fall, you have a better change of it happening with posture change verses knockdown.

All in all,I'mnot necessarilysurethat our highestdamage dealing move should have posture change, but if you mix it up with the rest of the specials in our arsenal, it actually works quite well in the right situation.

Very good point, though I'd argue the ability to clear the combat queue coupled with the 30-second timer removes this as a valid reason.

Even if you're not quick enough to clear a full queue of posture down attacks, it's a simple matter to alternate posture changes with another attack, giving you the extra time needed to clear the queue. Spamming KD on someone who's already down is pointless, since the timer will prevent it from being effective. Then once they're up the posture-up effect doesn't prevent people from going straight back into spamming KD, hoping to hit as soon as the timer expires.

That's not to say it's not intentional, simply that it could be removed without any real harm to the game.
