I posted this earlier today on the Eclipse Trade boards:
After reading through some of the threads here I thought it might be worthwhile to post this:
Here are your top level items:
1: High Damage Long Vibro Lances. High Damage on a nightsister lance is a plus but since it has no AP that is not the optimal thing on these. High damage VLs again, a plus but not optimal. Damage over 500 on a LVA unsliced and its probably going to sell for 1mm or more.
2: If it isnt a LVA or VL then you need a dot. A good strong dot is one with damage over 200str. You want to see a lot of uses and also potency over 40% to consider it a real keeper. Higher str and potency are definite pluses. Str over 500 and you have something worth more than a million. A disease dot is nice but realize its very very common. White named nightsister lances have a disease dot. Strong fire dot will see higher value as well, as in PVP these are extremely nasty. Especially if coupled with a disease on the same stick. Look for values over 250 for a winner here. Figure 2K per str point if the potency is high (60%+)
3: Mods. Hm. Personally the only mod I have been looking for is Terrain Negotiation. BUT, if you get one of the above on a stick with mods, well then thats a true keeper. I would give a lot of money for an LVA with damage over 500 and def Vs KD of 25 for instance. The problem with modded sticks is you must be holding the stick to get the mod obviously, and if the rest of the stick sucks, you aint gonna be holding it much. Therefor for a mod to bring a lot of money as a stand alone item, it must pertain to when you are NOT fighting. Terrain negotiation, etc.As for value, only the jedi walkers have been bringing big money. Sticks with +25 terrain negotiation.
Hope this helps a bit with starting prices on the boards. This is in answer to one auction here with 1mm starting bids on a bunch of so so lances really. But I figured it might be helpful to others.
Hm another quick Edit, this is not to say sticks that dont hit these standards are valueless, only that they wont get a 500-1 million credits

Nice one....I get sick of people trying to sell NS stuff with poor damage out-put for silly money just because it has stuff like 15 to bezerk lol.

I've got a stick. It's about 35 inches long. Weighs about 28 ounces. Some people might call it a bat.
Would this be good to beat someone into a bloody pulp with?

Well, I am no expert, I won't specifically appraise your pike, I can just tell you what will bring the big bucks, so...I did. Yours does not fit the bill. Sorry.

Good post. I am fairly new to Pike and this does explain quite a bit about what to look for in a pike also. Thanks
