Thread: Player Versus Player Hints...

I am a Teras Kasi Artist, and PvP all the time, so I know what im talking about.


I have a few hints to improve the pvp success of Pikeman, having been one myself.


The Problem & Solution


Im sure you all know of the issues with pikeman accuracy, so always have either crispic, or correlian ale. Ale has a very short lasting time, but has a higher modifier to your melee accuracy. Crispic lasts for 15minutes on average.


Now, when your facing someone like a Teras Kasi Artist, you want to use your action up as fast as possible, so you can keep them healing, and not hitting you. Because when they get a hit on you, they arent going to stop. Now, I also suggest that if you have the Doctor xxx4 line, you use an action power up, along with your four buffs. If you do not have xxx4 doctor, I still suggest that you use an action powerup. The reason is, because, when you get to know action, use one move constantly (impale in your case), and if you have armor break, keep it on at all times! Now, if you use impale, after you impale, use melee hit, then impale again. This will keep the enemy healing, and not hitting you as much as they would normally be.


I always use this tactic when I face jedi, and melee alike (ranged arent as challenging when they're close enough to attack). Sometimes, you will find that they will not go down untill their mind runs out, but thats fine, usually their mind runs out fairly quickly, and when you see them with low health, knock them down quickly, so that they cannot heal.


If you are low on health, and you cannot heal yet, use a knockdown, so that their damage will stop for a little while, hopefully long enough for you get one more heal in.


I hope this helps you alla bit. When people use this tactic against me, it takes alot to beat them, and sometimes I do go down.

Good post, I just got done fighting a TKMusing fully sliced katarn knucks and 6515 Kinetic and energy resist armornot to long ago (about 15-20 mins) and this guide pretty much sums up what I was doing (yes I won his mind ran out) another thing you might want to add in is to use intimidate and warcry there really useful if you use them correctly they really help.

I have never lost to another bralwer using my pikeman template. Tkm/sword/fencers dont even so much as get me worried.


Only jedi to beat me with my current temp was getting owned until he gave up and used and exploit that kept me on the ground not being able to get up, but anyone dies to that one. If they are a pure brawler and dont use an exploit they wont beat me.

my tempalte is master pike/tk 0103,cm 4404 with bio warfare efficiency sea's, and a really nice pike 1050 damage, 1.01 speed with a +10 polearm speed mod in the pike AND +10 damage and +5 warcry (all built into the pike)


If you notice the TKM 0103 gives me general melee accuracy as well as melee defense. I use bio clothes for more defense and i use 6000+ battle armor. The foods I use together are spiced tea, bofa treats, blob candy, pikatta pie, synthsteak, and sometimes canape instead of tea depending on how my stomach is doing.


This template is a level 75 so it is a PVP template only although I kill up to level 84 ungrouped (9 above my level)


i start out with warcry, let them KD me first, then use traumatize. warcry and traumatize stack for a -80 combat speed debuff. I keep a cob macro running refreshing every 20 seconds. Once traumatized and warcried I intimidate them.. At this point I am not even trying to damage them, I just focus on keeping these states on them letting them burn up their action. As i get into the rythem I star adding a poison using the enhancers.. it might miss once or twice, if it does I just get some casual hits in with my pike to do some damage while my mind regenerats. With the debuffs on them they do not out do my stimpack rountimes - bliel usually and If not i can heal with a toss enhancer.


Eventually they find themselves warcried, and traumatized with 600 tick poison/diterium combo on them, out of action, mid way on health, and filling up their stomach with ruby (yes part of my strategy involves forcing them to feel up on ruby so they cant stim anymore. At this point they are having to heal with their mind heals and I start going heavy on the offense with my pike, keeping all the states and and poisons on them. At this point they know they will loose and oftentimes give up.


There is no way they can outdamage me with a -80 combat speed reduction, intimidated, with 2 300 tick dots running on them while getting hit with a pike that does as much damage as a heavy sword but has the action cost and speed of a NK-Executor.

Oh and if for some reason it looked like I might end up loosing, which hasnt happened in a while.. i have a long lasting snare and can snare them and let the dots eat them while I regenerate mind. So there is basically no way they can beat me. I loved this one guys remark when i was fighting him: "Woah! A melee kiter!"

Nice template for 1v1's. The only downside I see is that you can not group PvP too well.

Once traumatized and warcried I intimidate them. stabilizers cure int and warcry,do you reapply those constantly as well?At this point I am not even trying to damage them, I just focus on keeping these states on them letting them burn up their action.how do they burn up action at -80 attack speed? If you are unbeatable with this playstyle, then pvp on your server is mediocre at best.

gj for having the lamest (no thought/skill required)template in the game, and gg for not knowing what cm skill gives the speed debuff, its called thyroid rupture noob.


also anyone who runs out of action while warcry'd and thyroid ruptured utterly lacks action management. ok i never run out of action w/o speed dubuffs, if someone speed debuffs me it just means im using less moves in the same amount of time, meaning less action usage and more action regen.
