Thread: Old School Pikeman BH is now lost

Been away from the game for about 8 months now. I always played a BH, but evolved what I mixed with it as things in the game changed. I ended as a M. pikeman/BH + fencer defense. I piked pikeman because outlasting force was the name of the game back then, and clearing poison, dizzy, stun, KD, and healing from a fire burn meant they wern't hitting me, but i was still hitting them. The weapon switch delay put a thorn in my side where i could only switch maybe 1 time, but it was still the best build imo because if anyone can remember that far back, melee > Jedi in most cases.

I came back to see how the CU changed things, and from reading this forum it looks like my +25 speed shirt and high damage pikes mean nothing anymore because we are labeled as "tanks" now? Ranged > most now?

So they took away our DoT pikes, and our area dizzy and replaced them with what? An intimidate we have always had?

How does speed make a difference when all "specials" are on their own timer cool down? Looks a lot like WoW, but slower..minus the ability to jump. I never really saw a "default" attack inbetween specials either to show speed even made a difference.

Main question: Can Pikeman/BH investigation 3 + (?)still be an offensive threat against a Jedi?

Has melee really become all defense only?

Best bet is to get 4000 in doctor if you wanna last somewhat against a jedi.

I guess dealing overwhelming damage is out of the question now that DoT's are gone eh? It's come down to who can heal themselves the longest without dieing first now? That's unfortunate...

I'm a pikeman BH - combined with swords you can deal good damage.
If the Jedi is prepared to fight then you have a good chance if you're food buffed + spice.
However - no root / no kd dizzy = Jedi running away lots.

I tend to have to hunt in groups with a carb BH to stop them from running.

Sad eh!

If u need to do major damage then u should either go with Rifles or Swords, they are the damage dealers. In my experience as a master pikeman, the brawler move- Lunge- knocksdown your target more often than leg sweep or let hit does. And the dizzy/knockdown combo of last year's swg no longer works anymore.

I didn't think Adv Sweep added a dizzy to the KD. I use it to KD all the time, but have yet to see a dizzy come from it. Plus with KD recov, dizzy/KD doesn't really work anymore, does it?

Its hardly unfortunate that the game no longer revolves around who has the most expensive dot Annius.

You may find that the game actually takes some degree of skill to succeed in now as opposed to just macroing a dizzy/kd combo and spamming hit 2 (3 was hardly sensible since it got people up from kd with its pesky fu cking lunge ability which they never fixed) with a fire dot equipped.

I didn't have the most expensive dot. I never used a DoT that attacked the mind because pikeman didn't have a mind specific hit . My pikes were health poison and health fire or if I was feeling frisky i would use a action fire/poison and leg hit...that always threw people for a loop.

"Old School Pikeman BH"?

Since when was Pikeman/BH old school? That was a relatively recent DoT-laden development.

Yes I'm being totally unconstructive in this thread, but I've been gone for a couple weeks only to discover I can't log in. Frustrating.
