actually i think this guy who made that post is right. maybe not as extreme as he makes it but in a way. hes right.

He is blowing it all out of proportion,I think. I have seen more Pikmeen on my server, yes. Most however, don't have DOT lances, they use our signature LVAs. In fact, most i talk to don't want them. Thos who have them, use them for "show and tell". I don't PvP, so i don't pay attention to what DOt lances do what. As far as FOTM, every profession goes through that phase. That is just a fact. Also, someone was correct in mentioning in that thread howhigh endweapons droppedby whatever mob is not limited to polearm weapons.

Just under, or mis-informed. I think you actually need to go and look for one of these so called "commonly dropped uber 
lances" in orderto understand just how rare they really are. (ifI never see the word "uber" again, I'll be just fine with that)

His answer was "but you're a master pikeman- you must have a DOT lance!"
I think things just get blown out of proportion, and we have a portion of the gaming population that will scream "nerf" at the top of their lungs, at the drop of a hat.
We also have a few classes that are very used to winning the fights they get into, and they may not like the idea that a class they are used to laughing at just might occassionallyprove to be a very real threat.

My guess is that he lost a duel against a pikeman with a fire DOT and it dealt a nice blow to his large ego problem.

Typical whiner post. He makes it sound like the skill-trainer gives you an 800 Tic Mind Fire Lance when you train Nov Brawler.
These weapons are incredibly rare and incredibly expensive. I have been collecting DOT weapons since 10/'03. The BEST DOT lance I have is 800 Tic Health Fire. The best mind fire DOT I have tics at 400. Both of these are very, very rare and the only reason I was able to obtain them is due to the fact that I was at one point, a very successful crafter.
I know a few people on my server who have or had nice mind fire pikes/lances. The best one I know of was a 700 damage lance that ran out of charges about 5 weeks ago.
Again, the person who made that post in the GCW forums is an idiot.

this guy acts like 800 mind fire lances are crafted and stockedby weaponsmiths, i have plenty of poison/fire weapons, but i went through a whole lot of sh1t to get them, its not like the just appear in front of you when your a pikeman.

/agree as well. I tote around a couple of lances that were - when I purchased them - considered "very good"....251 str and 295 str mind fire, both with 80%+ potency. They actually are still "very good", but I know for a fact that weapons roughly that size are quite a bit more common on lowca these days, and that there are more than a few that are bigger. Personally, I'd be perfectly happy to give them up, just as soon as two things happen - DOT's are taken out of the game entirely, and Pikeman is improved. If those things happen, I won't have to have my own dot weapon to have a chance at killing you before (or after :smileyvery-happy
you kill me with your own dot weapon, and I won't have to have the thing around just because there are simply some people who I cannot hurt/cannot touch.

Even a decent(~300) mind fire lance will make a huge difference in PvP, especially if your opponent doesn't have one, or can't counter it. Hell, they're not rare at all either. Between myself and my other Pikeman guild member, we have around 30-40 mind fire lances, all decent or better.
