What is going to happen to my my 80 some dot pikes? Are they nerfing the dots?

I hope so, but we won't know till a Dev posts something or they lift the Sandbox's NDA...or until open Beta hits...
so don't worry, you have plenty of time to play with your toys.

your ones with dots will probly still be around look at all the other prenerf stuff thats still in game as im one of the few who can sucesufly use a republic blaster with no marksman skill.

Well, use logic (which is found hardly ingame as has been proved by introducing highdamage DoT)...
Method 1: leaving current weapons as they are now...
Result A:Considering that Buffs will be dropped drastically and armor will have far lesser resists there will be one-hit-kills
Result B: Great and justified complaints which will lead to massive nerfs to current weaponry of all kind or total removal.
Method 2: reducing current weaponry or removing them...
Result: Gone as well.
As a reminder, Jedi had their "revamp" or shall I say "upgrade" by now, and look what they have done to the sabers:
- changed type of damage
- "dismantle them to get crap from highend weaponry (go read some old posts in the Jedi forum)
- Introduction of new sabers
Anyway, I would say there is a 99.9999% chance that you can kiss your fire-and-forget-tactics along with your lame weapons goodbye upon CU or shortly after.

I hope they remove DOTs completely. Who wants to rely on them if you don't have too anyway?

Interesting responses, I was a hardcore pistoleer until I got into the pikemen line and enjoyed my high damage pikes and dots. Last time I checked I don't have a headshot or cm poisons. You can say yay to dot removal but you mine as well kiss killing any jedi goodbye 2 with the revamps.

You dont need dots to kill a jedi, ive killed jedi myself without a single dot (besides the 1 tick bleed from my vk's), jedi are for the most part a piece of cake, only ones i have a problem with being a tk are m.defenders, and i havent ran into one yet.

The discussion is about pikeman and our weapons not TKA and VK's.

Well, Jedi (at decent level) should not be killed by a single profession in any way. And seriously all you can kiss goodbye is the fire-forget-tactics. AJedi Knight should be able to kill ANY opponent more or less easy, except a MBH and other Jedi.
For that you have to ensure that there are no armies of Jedi grouping and killing any others - best render them to be grouped with a padawan only or bailed out of group when attacked.

80 DOt pikes huh. Just wondering, have ya ever tried to use a non DOT piek in PvP. That is where real skill comes into play. Anyone can swing a noob lance with a mind poison tick. but onyl a true pikeman can pwn in PVP without a DOT weapon. Sell your DOTS whiel ya can, they are getting nerfed, and neve rlook back. I just hope you aitn a 4/0/0/4 pikeman.

I agree that it does show a degree of skill to do will in PVP without a DOT polearm however, it is still not a likely possibility that a Master Pikeman will pwn any other melee profession unless he is wielding a very powerfull LVA with a max damage of over 600 which is very expensive on my server and not very common.
