I completely know EXACTLY how you feel. I have met TWO pikeman on Lowca galaxy. TWO!!!! You know why? Because our special HAM costs are RIDICULOUS. Because we miss FAR too much.

It is WAY too often when my HAM bar takes more damage from my own special moves than the creature attacking me. Ridiculous? I think so. It is time for a fix. I pay for the game...at least make it worth my while and fix the problems. I hope you don't plan on releasing the expansion WAY too early like you did the game. Fix the bugs and balances... I am growing tired.

Daelmar - Lowca Galaxy : Master Pikeman / Master CH / Medic 4-3-4-0

Pikeman : The only class that couldn't hit the ground if they droped their weapon.
Pikeman : Doing massive damage; to the air surrounding our target.
Pikeman : You're dead meat, unless you happen to be standing in front of us.
Pikeman : Because the devs were one profession short.
DEVs : Pikeman? Thats a class?

I lost toe to toe with a Pistoleer yesterday(we both stood there next to eachother, no kiting)...you should have seen the misses and failed knockdowns!

I am a pikeman/medic Zabrak on gorath and i have access to a great weaponsmith. so my weapon is ok espally if i use powerup and i normally dont PvP but i have tryi it a few times and i get trashed by swordsman and fencer and tka all of the time not to mention the peolpe who have TK student in the title but turn out to be smuglers and shoot me down. i wear very little compsite armour usslay my boots and gloves and sometime my biceps and all of my clothing has skill enhacments for polearm acccuracy and spped but i miss at least 75% of the time i mean i am hitting a kaadu witha a stick y do i keep missing it it is bigger than me with long lanky limbs i can understand if i could if not being able to say try to skin it with my LVA but not being able to hit it come on i spin in a circle and i cant hit any thing but my ham bar this sucks but i will stay loyal and maybe after the fix the bh problem about not being able to hunt people characters and what type of society has at least 20% of it bounty hunters they might be able to fix us

heh, count me in on the Gorath Pikeman/Doc/CH census.

That makes, umm 8? Wonder why there are so many of us on Gorath? I've noticed most of us are fairly far along in the pike tree, but I never see anyone starting it anymore. I've seen a few apprentice tags and make a point of saying hi when I see someone with one, but so far all of those people have switched to something else within a few days. You'd think the absence of pikemen would give devs a clue that we need some help here.

I don't PvP, it's just not my thing but being a pikeman is an added deterrent. I don't have any ranged skills but do want to chime in that yes, we have to have high level medic/doctor skills to survive and this strikes me as just wrong. Pikeman is not a hybrid profession with master medic/polearm IV as prerequisites, but it sure plays that way. Does anyone NOT have near-master medic/doc?

So where do you all get your weapons? I'm still using a LVA from Goppo and haven't found a better one since, although it's going to wear out soon and I'm not sure where to go. The one I'm using was one ofmy back-up weapons, thanks to my primary one going MIA. (see below) And how about melee power-ups by the crate? Got any favorite vendors?

I had a really strange thing happen the other night. I logged in and was waiting for a few friends in a cantina on Dathomir when someone asked me about the stats on my VL. The funny thing is, I didn't owna VL. I looked and lo and behold I was holding one and my LVA was gone. I guess the stats on it aren't bad, maybe I should give it a try. It's been a few days and I still have the newfound VL and am still missing my speed-sliced LVA, talk about weird.

I don't remember the last time anyone asked me for training in Pike. I know one (1)other pikeman, on Flurry, who I track down for training. I almost always have the Foot Soldier flag on, and almost anyone who I talk to asks me what class that is.

Biggest problem with pikeman? We were badly broken before the knockdown nerf. With knockdown, however, we could fake it. It wasn't so much the nerf that crippled us, as the fact that we were broken before. Someone posted earlier that we were prety good, as long as you had the best weapon, the best armor, and were buffed to the eyeballs. That doesn't sound to me like good. I would bet a novice dancer could dopretty well with all that.

Kauri actually has a good number of pikemen now, it seems. Inexplicably. I am one of 4 masters and I know of at least 5 other novices making their way to master. In addition, in the past week I've had 3 people ask me about pikeman as they were considering it, I think all 3 are going to pick it up. I strongly warned them about starting up the polearm tree, but also gave them the positives of being a pikeman. We'll see if they stick it out.

Hehe...actually, come to think of it...on servers with thousands of players each, it's a little funny that we think 10-15 is a large number.

I'm also a pikeman on Flurry, Ranxero. I know of a handful of others as well, most of them fairly high up there...

Okay i know of7 serious Pikeman on gorath. All of us are training in marksman skills, all of us are Ch's, all of us are master medic/doctors. I don't have any points left to even finish pikeman. I'm a 3,3,3,3 and to complement the proffesion i've had to pick up every Ch, Doc skill i could. This is the case with most Pikeman, it's a nasty nasty trend. We're not trying to play tricks on the Devs or anything by all being exactly the same, it's how we must survive.

Is this not proof enough? Read these boards... In the next big fix we're still getting shafted. There may be attention given to us in 4 more months but i can tell you now, you won't have any pikeman left.

In Pvp i'm forced to use a Vl sliced for speed. It's a 3.0, 94-355, -32@ across.I needspeed because if i'm not standing still andneither is my target i'm not going tohit period, so i need attacks in when i can get them. If i get an attack in it'slimited to a normal attack. Specials will A) miss and cause severe damage to myself, or B) hit and cause minor damage to my target and more to myself. I'm basically tradingHAM at this point, andstill getting shot at.

Because of the weapon i am forced to use i do 50 damage to my targets. Specials do about 300 tops, 255 to myself. I can't even explain how wrong that is. if i hit my target with sweep i miss him lying on the ground, a stationary target covered in armor. having a full set of comp should be comparable to standing while smothered with a matress. how are they also just as fast as people without amor?

I'm using a large ultrasonic vibrating blade on the end of a pole. Keeping leverage and torque in mind i should be doing 3 times what a vibro knuckler does. My blade is larger, and is moving faster when it hits. yet we do less damage and fail to hit with it across the board. I've fought with Tka many times, they're awesome, their class while having minor problems are effective in Pvp combat and Pve combat. I noticed a move called "Gorax Smash" was pulling in 1300-2500 damage. My vibro lance, in effect a vibro kuckle on a pole hits the target faster and harder, we may be swinging it slower but where's the damage? I hit for 800 with polearm hit two.... Did someone replace my vibro unit with a twangy rubber band?

I'm too tired to go on.... not just from it being late. But it's been three months, i'm beat.

Cythem, worthless player of gorath.

It's been said all along that melee are supposed to be Gods at close combat. IE, anytime a melee gets up close to you, you're dead.

This isn't the case though. None of the melee are doing the dmg they should be doing in pvp within our very small attack distance. Pikeman especially are ineffective at dealing any type of dmg whatsoever in pvp. The dev said we're supposed ot be comparable to rifleman, but we're not even close, not by a longshot.

It's my humble opinion that all melee should outdmg all ranged (including commandos) due to the very small attack distance in which we can do dmg, and that each melee should vary in dmg from there, with pikeman doing the most (as with the description in the master pikeman box).

Hey guys, has anyone else noticed that if we (pikemen) are supposed to be the strongest melee weapon then why does the powerhammer for 2-handed swordsmen blow us out of the water?? Yea it may be slower and all but the damage really makes up for it.

the holocron says we are one of the most feared brawlers i guess they got a word missing cause right now its more like: "Pikemen are one of the most feared brawlers for chubbas, who constantly get killed by the few brawlers useing the pike ONLY to get master brawler"....

oh and these brawlers altso think the pike is one the best wepons but i guess this couse it doesnt matter how much you miss on chubbas...
