Thread: Defense Stacking
Can someone point me to where it's explicitly laid out which defenses will or will not stack?
This hasn't been "explicitly laid out" yet, just simple "defenses will not stack" statements.
Kind ofmakes it hard to plan out a template, doesn't it?
I REALLY love TH's comments about how we should offer suggestions based on how things will work after the combat rebalance, considering the combat rebalance hasn't been explained in detail. According to TH finding things like this out on our own is a "fun" part of the game...

You would think that when they "specifically" typed"Dodge" and not "1Handed dodge" etc. they would mean that it would stack or be usable to any template that aquires it no matter what weapon they were using.
But I alsowould like a Definite "Yes that is how it works dear paying customer" from a Dev before Iwaste my time working on other skills to find out otherwise.

I also was thinking of taking some fencer skills to complement my Master Brawler and Mater TKA.
Want to be able to solo with nothing but my skills.

In a way I agree, but they just put out the "In Concept" post on combat revamp today, and it saysthe postwill be there until April. That means to me nothing will change until Summer. TH has said defenses won't stack, but that is basically worthless because we have no idea what defenses he is talking about.
If he is talking about all defenses, that will require a major major overhaul. Just think about it, what will they do with the "Ranged Defense +5" rings, or the squad leader's bonuses to ranged defense. Heck, I think there are even new foods coming out that will increase Ranged or Melee defense. If they do some kind of temporary fix my guess is that they'll cap some of the skills.
So, I guess my point is, why not get those skills now, they'll be useful for a long time, and if at some point in the future it is made so that they are not useful, well, the beauty of the system is that you can easily change to something you like better.
Easily change later? huh......I dont think grinding 4 boxes Fencer Grips is easy by any means.
If I had payed for those bonuses by spending my time to get them I would be very pizzed off that the Devs raped thier value after the fact with no compensation at all for my loss.
Lets see if I spent 20 hours to get them skillsand I make at least $15.00hr then they owe me about 2 years worth of game play.
Sounds fair nerf away.
