What do you thing is the best melee profession for NPCs like NightSisters? I'm trying to decide what melee profession to go with to do battle against some of the stronger NPCs out there. Please let me konw what you have liked and disliked in the melee professions you have tried.

Thank you

most high end npc's have high resists to everything ~(but alwayts kinetic it would seem) and medium armour, i was tkm for several months and i found that high pve i could not cause good damage, but swordsamn is great i get a choice of kinetic or blast damage and i hit a lot harder also the medium means i my danmage is usually only mitigate dby resists instead of armour as well as a vk has only light ap

Personally I wouldn't want to try tackling a Nightsister with any melee profession, seeing how at close range they'll use the Force on you now. I like to kite them with my rifles

The is very dependant upon which nightsister you fight. Some of them are immune to kinetic and have medium or heavy armor. They can be dizzied and knocked down, but it sticks differently on each type of nightsister.

You need to evaluate which nightsister(s) you are going to fight the most and pick the class that covers the most damage types. Fencer has stun/kinetic, TKA has kinetic, Pikeman has electric/kinetic and Swordsman has blast/kinetic.

For PVE I would do either pikeman or swordsman, Pikeman can be hard to level up at times but once you get to master it is AWESOME in PVE.

I don't know much about nightsisters (their resis's) but you'll probably want a hybrid, not only 1 profession.

I have seen Master Swordsman with nice power hammers absolutely mutilate Nightsisters. It is quite frightening to see until you understand that the swords usually have medium armor piercing, then it isn't so amazing.

I personally can attest to having the ability, as a MTKA, to take down a NS Protector solo. If you know how to spend your HAM, you can whittle them down and they really hit hard and have medium armor. The key really for any melee profession when fighting higher level mobs is to balance the use of their HAM against the Mobs damage. Even buffed and on mind food, the Protectors can debilitate you and hit chinks in your armor resists.

As another example, myself and 3 other friends took down the Nightspider Clan elder twice now. We had 4 master TKAs, one of which was also a master smuggler and 2 of which were master doctors. Using the smuggler as a decoy, we were able to rotate out the doctors from combat, using one to res/heal and the other to fight. Took us the better part of 40 minutes, but we took her down with pistol bleeds and TKA. Our best achievement so far in this game if I do say so myself.

My point is, with good tactics and teamwork in this game, anything is possible. I don't think the design of this game was for the high end content to be soloed.

Yep, as the guy above me said, check out their individual resists, and use the appropriate weapon. Some Nightsisters (a good example of a HARD npc) can be smacked down easy by Swordsmen, because they have low resists to blast etc. The harder ones, Elders, seem to have 100% resists for most damage types. I saw a guy the other day outside the stronghold, blasting away at an Elder with his rifle...she didnt even know he was there, so I guess depending on your style, Rifleman might be a good choice, and considering it seems to be the flavour of the month in PVP, its probably a good skill to have.

Not all ns have force powers, If your buffed and you got a good gaderffi at master you could solo a low level one like a ranger(I would get master brawler to), but i would have some with just to be safe. What i would do on them is(KD, Warcry2, Dizzy, Dizzy, Dizzy,hit3, hit3,hit3,etc restart if they get up or dizzy go away)

master tka/master swordsman gives you KD/dizzy and light AP for the lower level ones and blast/kinetic and medium AP for the big dogs. That covers all nightsisters (elders are heavy Armor 30% blast). Although you wont get much defense vs. the Force with any template.
