On the night of January 17th, 2oo4, GUNMAN was involved in a PvP encounter on the Flurry server between his guild and members of several other (imperial) guilds. This confrontation involved players using a KNOWN EXPLOIT (attacking a turret outside of its range). The players that were exploiting were removed from the combat and the turret was healed to full by a CSR. Those players were informed that their accounts would be flagged for exploitation (they had no idea they were exploiting), and if they continued to exploit, they would be banned from the game. These warnings were issued within 10 minutes of the attack starting, with a rebel player informing the chat room that exploitation was taking place, and another player sending the CSR a private message in game (re: /tell).

Tonight players attacked a rebel town on the same server in which GUNMAN maintains his character. The rebels defending the base used a KNOWN EXPLOIT (throwing poisons/diseases and attacking from below ground level) to end the raid and protect their base. These exploiters were reported both in the chat rooms (wherein the reporters were informed that CSRs could not be sent out based upon reports from the chatrooms), and from trouble tickets generated in game. I myself have generated a trouble ticket based upon this experience. We were attacking the base OVER 120 MINUTES ago, 12 times as long as it took to get a CSR to punish the exploiters that were attacking GUNMAN's guild's base.

This is an example of blatant favoritism based upon a PA having a PLAYER CORRESPONDENT in their ranks. I recommend that GUNMAN be stripped of his rank asPLAYER CORRESPONDENT and a more impartial player be found to represent the Pikeman class.

honestly the devs just need to stop being lazy and fix this, not add colors to bikes and stuff, these exploits have become a basic part of combat anymore and seem necessary to use anymore as a counter to people using them already, it is unfortunate but I do not sign this petition.

Second, he was in no way 'exploiting' his position. Running in and out of range of a turret is not an exploit you ass, its good tactics. Standing outside the range of a turret so you can attack and it can't IS. Now with Gunman being a pikeman, I find it extremely hard to believe that he was attacking a turret from 70 odd metres away.

Now on to the poison and disease throwing from behind walls issue, once again, I don't think pikemen quite have that ability yet. That sounds more like a CM tactic than a pikeman one.

Now if your trying to say that because Gunman happened to be in the group with these people that were participating in these actions and by doing so that somehow implicates him in the wrongdoing, then you sir are an idiot.

Many times I've been ina group with jackasses who do stupid things and have had to inform them that their actions aren't acceptable. Whether Gunman was party to these actions or not, only he and his group/guildmates know for sure. You sure as hell don't whether you were there or not. You don't know what was said in their chat windows so don't assume you do.

Now as to his position as our correspondent, he in no way 'exploited' his position. He may have exploited in game, but I for one highly doubt that. I've many times found myself disagreeing with Gunman as I've found him Pig-headed, stubborn and indifferent to others problems. BUT he has done a bang up job so far and have not had problem one.

So take your little accusations, go sell crazy somewhere else ... were all stocked up here.

Oh, and another thing. Any jerkoff that signs this damned thing is in for the flaming of a lifetime by me on any other post they ever make in this forum again.

First, thank you all for your candor.

Second, please understand the entirety of my post before you respond.

GUNMAN was not responsible for the exploits tonight, I was simply envious of his magic ability to summon a CSR when an exploit was taking place. It is entirely possible that things worked out for him and his PA very well and they got a response from a CSR very very quickly.

The facts are this:

1. People were exploiting. Players from Gunman's PA reported the exploits both in the chatroom and in game. A CSR responded, the offending players were warned. Great! Excellent! While the customer service still leaves something to be desired (threats are never well recieved), a resolution was reached.

2. People were exploiting. My PA uses the same methods to get help, the chatroom and in-game tickets. No response is forthcoming, even as far as 2 hours later. No warnings are issued, the exploiters will circumvent the normal rules of the game again and face no penalty.

Therein lies my suspicion that Gunman's position had something to do with the extraordinary circumstance surrrounding his PA's experience. Reading it explained as thus would lead anyone to wonder. I do not know Gunman. I do not read the Pikeman forums. I generally don't read any forums. Star Wars Galaxies takes up enough of my time just in the raw playing of the game that an exhaustive search of the forums would impinge upon my (very valuable at this point in my life) rare sleep times. Please read these missives with that in mind. I do not actually want a fall-out of nuclear porportions, I am simply advocating for what is fair. It always works better to ask for too much and then compromise than to ask for too little in the first place.

You made it sound in you stupid little post that Gunmans party was doing the exploiting. You're upset because a csr responded to him quicker then other people. Get bent loser.

CSRs have been responding quicker to pvp issues lately, it just so happened that he got lucky and you didn't. If you think this has something to do with him being a correspondent you need to give your head a shake.

Some people just don't quite grasp the concept of humour. And I wasn't threatening you anyway fool. I was making threats to would be posters how would sign your little bunk petition.

I would like to sincerely appologize. Gunman apparantly had little part, if any in the summoning of a CSR to the site of exploiters at his PA's factional base.

To Gunman: I am sorry. I looked at the facts, as they were presented to me and drew an incorrect conclusion. I saw that within 10 minutes of a player stating that CSRs were being called, a CSR was actually meting out justice. Then I saw (on another day entirely) a similar occurance, players were exploiting -I personally tried to call a CSR from the chat room (which is apparantly where your PA thought that the CSR came from), whereupon I was informed that no CSR would investigate a claim made in the chatroom. I logged back into the game (where the exploiters had finished their dirty game, incapping and killing all members of my raiding party via exploits) and filed a Customer Service ticket. I expected (foolishly, it appears) that I would get a similar response time. Two hours later, with no response and the servers going down, I came here to complain. I am sorry. I have long been a proponent of arguing in the best way to promote the best response. I did my job well, but sullied your name in the process.

I would like to retract my position on Gunman's removal. I have been assured by more than one person that he never used his influence as the Pikeman consultant to sway any PvP combat.

Again, I appologize. I never meant to drag an innocent player who gives so much to the game through the mud. I was given facts and drew conclusions that, while logical, don't apply when you add in the reletive disorganization of SOE and their customer (dis) service department.

I, in no way agree with the original poster. I would just like to respond to you Legwand for all of your unnecessary flaming and childish behavior. About every third line your calling names and proclaiming your stupidity to the world. I've read alot of rubbish and childish junk on these forums but you sir take the cake. You might want to seek professional help with your obvious lack of social abilities.
