Wow.. talk about hostility.. i feel like a pistoleer that dabbles in BH, A commando that dabbles in CH .. wow.. Look .. i'm doing this because the holo is making me .. and i'm rather enjoying it .. only reason i am going to leave it is because i know i have to master a few more things and the mount market won't dry up any time soon..

Once i unlock the fs slot and get bored with it i plan on returning and going CH/Pike .. i'ts fun..

I do not really understand you.
I am a 'Holo-Pikeman' myself and although I will not keep this profession, I think that Holos are a golden opportunity for other players to get to know your profession. And some of those players will perhaps stay with you
Look at the Swordsman: My boyfriend had to master this profession and most ppl in the forum were friendly and gave them a cordial reception ... they tried to help him how to get XP fast, which weapos is the best ect ...
I think just because a player becomes a [insert profession here] there is no reason not to welcome them

Boy I hope they dont I never would have tried Pikeman otherwise and I am really enjoying it.

Holo pikemen are not treated badly here, i can't count the amount of "help me master pikeman fast" posts that have gone thru here that got plenty of good advice and help.

I do understand where you are coming from, but you will get positive and negative responses from people in every profession, no matter what profession, there are both positive and negative people that are a part of it.

From my experience i would like to say that Pikemen are one of (if not the most) positive and perservering group of people in this game, Im not saying were the only ones (DE, oher melee, ect ect) don't misunderstand.

Because we have been so dedicated to our class we are also very proud of it, and our time spent with it. This pride tends to make the entire class kind of sacred and pure to us.

So when a big group of people enter our class for the expressed reason of getting the fs slot (which a good number of us have personally dismissed) andrequest this and thatsome of ustend to see it as disrespectful.

But dont worry, were not bad people, were not elietists, were not exclusive.

Were just proud.

Pride can make you do silly things sometimes.

Personally i think the holocron system is lame anyways, but I am glad that some people are being introduced to Pike and are enjoying and sticking with it.

There is always good and bad in all things, we just all need to remind ourselves of it.

I see both sides of this issue. At first I was happy holos were making more people pikemen so that more people would see whatour problems were and give more voice to the issue. the problem is that more people are just interested in making master and leaving.And Now we get twonew groups the holos that think theres nothing wrong with being pikeman class since they only fight the same PVE constently to grindup the latter up to master and never see what it's like to fight hard stuff (they'll do that as jedi's). Or we get the holos that hate this class and say hey it's Star Wars we should use a blasters. The later is my favorite of course because "News Flash" Jedi's are brawlers.

fact is if you don't plan to stay as apikeman don't tell us what we need. just get to master and leave.

I have no problem with holo pike. Its nice to have someone to train and get some apprentice xp for.

I think all Holocrons should hand out Master Pikeman.

For the chance to become a God, its worth having to learn a little humility.

I think even more good news is that the jedi are now running into the problem that their defense vs stun/kd/dizzy/blind/etc is not working correctly and with some luck they will be listened too, after all they should be the class most listened too. So if they do get listened to there is a chance that pikeman will get fixed as well. True it isn't because the devs listened to the pikeman, but at least it would be a fix in our favor.

u know what im sure all professions r getting crabby ppl mastering the profession just cus the holo said so ... and yes we as a small group of ppl who tent to teach eachother as a family may not want the crabby "im only here cus my holo said" ... but we could just as well pick up ppl who love pikeman and stik with it ...

i dont know about this... after attaining the rank of foot soldier and hearing people coming into our profession just to become force sensitive i have developed a kind of isolationist attitude towards holo-pikeman. And yes as the post said earlier it is kind of a pride issue... i dont know how to express my feelings for it atm cuz its hard for me even to describe it to myself ? Ami bigot in a sort of way about this ? probably... but then again i had the same welcome when i got my holo and it said to for me to master chef... hehe...so i guess this post was kind of pointless in a way... now lets see those responses... hehe

that sums it all up, best thing i have heard in awhile, and yeah, as someone who has stuck with the class since the game started, and never going to give it up, not for a holo or anything else, i would have to say i whole-heartedly agree
