whole team doesn't need to play the same song... here's how

1) leave group
2) play your own song
3) get reinvited..

But beware....its still bugged

Things to know about it....

#1 You must be playing to do a /change (songname).

#2 If someone is not playing, but has an instrument equiped (they had stopped due to action, teaching, dancing), andif they can play the song you /change to, they will start playing ...sorta. They will make the "vamp" sounds, but be unable to flourish or gain xp OR respond to a /stopband until THEY do a /stopmusic and restart (even them moving doesn't stop the sound).

Even in AFK hell, I prefer for people to a) Ask to change the song and then b) Do a /stopband followed by a /startband song, BUT only if they do a /startband.

Here's why....

1) Anyone can do the /stopband...not just the leader or people playing (you must be playing to do the /change)

2)Yes the person doing the /startband may get bugged almost as badly as someone on a /change, but you can move a step to reset then restart, AND the persong doing the /startband is ATK (one would hope) unlike unsuspecting victims in the /change.

I don't care for /change, and not just because it's bugged. It's just unmusical. Springsteen doesn't abruptly switch away from the middle of "Born in the USA" to "Born to Run." The Chicago Symphony Orchestra doesn't cut from the middle of Beethoven's Ninth to Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 21. I like to stop and start in SWG, just as I do in RL.

Agreed NewJedi, there's limited use for the /change feature.

What I really need is a /pausebandmusic command anda /pausebandmusic <instrument> version so I can truely lead the band more effectively (and on the fly). As it is, if I want to do something like that, I have to call it out in group chat, which recently has required explaining the existence of the /pausemusic command as well. So it takes 20 min. and 3 run thrus to get it done.

Even though it may not happen as much, I think some RL music acts "transition" from one song to another. It may not be abrupt as /changemusic, but it does happen.

I think /changemusic has its place, but maybe it would be more effective if used sparingly along with the /pausemusic that was mentioned.

I would suggest to first ask all members, afks have tough luck here, then /stopband followed by a /startband.

What really annoys me is when a bandmembers arent playing the same song. If the musicians dont even care to show at least some effort in entertaining, why even include them in the game. Sorry for the rant...just had to be
