Thread: Is there a way to 3-minute buff someone?

HI all,
I'm relatively new to the profession, but people are telling me that I can three minute buff people if I only use a "certain macro" with particular flourish times, etc. Is this true, and if so, what is the "formula"?
People apparently are too impatient to wait 6 minutes.
Help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't use a special macro, instead I just run my normal macros all at the same time. Just make sure you're flourishing 5 times every 8 seconds.

Thanks for the reply. 
I wasn't sure if it was a "rumor" or real. I only use a macro really for reminding me when the buff is done...so hard to look back for the time stamps through all the spam.
BTW, why isn't this being better "advertised" on the forum...I haven't seen any mention of it?

Part of the reason is that your Correspondent still hasn't received assurances from the devs that this form of the buff is working as intended. I'm not saying it's an exploit -- I hope the 3-minute buff stays, myself -- but my sense is that the devs did not intend at least some forms of the "speed buff."

I think there's a difference between the 3 minute flourish buff and the exploit speed buff. The 3 minute buff is just usinglots of flourishes, and I can't see why the Devs would want togimp the mind buffing systemanymore than it already is.

The last time I was working my way up to Master Musician I was doing a study.
From Novice to Master buffing took between 8-10 minutes per a person.
Once I reached Master buffing took between 5-8.
I also found out and have read from other sources that to gain optimal XP and to deliver optimal buffs, you only need to perfrom 2 flourishes roughly every 10 seconds....anything more is overkill and anything less is underkill.

I dont think time should be a factor at all. 30 buff is great for prepping the guild for battle.

I don't see how the 3 min buff can be an exploit. The game lets you flourish 5 times every 8 secs or so (I do 8.5 secs to be safe, and can get a full buff in 3:30.)And after you dump the macro, you will play every single flourish that you did. It might take 10 mins 'til it's done, but it does them all. Anything faster than that is obviously an exploit, since you have to trick the game into letting you flourish more than 5 times every 8 secs.
Anyways, this is what I use for a 3 minute buff. It sounds good with virtuoso on the Chid horn:
Name the macro "mindbuff"
/flo 1;/flo 2;/flo 1;/flo 3;/flo 5;/pause 8.5;/flo 4;/flo 1;/flo 2;/flo 1;/flo 3;/pause 8.5;/flo 5;/flo 7;/flo 8;/flo 6;/flo 7;/pause 8.5;/flo 8;/flo 1;/flo 2;/flo 1;/flo 3;/pause 8.5;/flo 5;/flo 4;/flo 1;/flo 2;/flo 1;/pause 8.5;/flo 3;/flo 5;/flo 7;/flo 8;/flo 6;/pause 8.5;/flo 7;/flo 8;/flo 1;/flo 2;/flo 1;/pause 8.5;/macro mindbuff
