There is an FAQ for buffing stickied in this forum.
1) However to answer your questions....Instrument and song are supposed to make a difference, however in real tests it doesn't appear to be the case (see my thread "The Patent Pending......Quickbuff".
2)Buff duration maxes out at 2 Hours (well 2 hours and 9 seconds after the latest patch). It is not incresed byadditional MMEpoints gained by levels or through Skill Tapes.

I understand the Mind Enhancement abilty gives a musicin the ability to buff Focus and Willpower. According to documtation the amount of the buff is a % equal to your ability. So a Novice Musician with +10 Mind Enhancement will increase the Focus and Willpower by 10%. The documentation also states that the more flourishes you do the faster the mind buff is done. Two questions I cannot find answers to:
1) Does the instrument matter? I can do more flourishes for a longer time with a lower level instrument but dont know if this effects the buff in any way.
2) Duration. Most people talking about duration talk about a 2 hour buff. Is this the same for the Novice Musician. In other words if I have a +10 Mind Enhancement and the target has a 500 Focus, thier focus is buffed to 550 but for how long? 2 Hours or 12 minutes (10% of 2 hours)?
