Hi folks,

In case you missed, it JustG has posted a very interesting "State of the Game" essay that highlights lots of interesting new content on the way.Check out thelink and related thread inthe "In Development" forum. Of particular interest to us isthis coming"mini-publish," currently scheduled to appear after Publish 9:

"Social Adventure" Opens

This will mostly be a non-combat adventure, targeting Entertainers, Dancers, Musicians, Image Designers and fast-talking Smugglers... perhaps set in the Hutt Casino. Loot will be new songs, dances, etc. ______________________________

Now, that doesn't mean we'll get all this overnight. Publish 7 just went Live, and Publish 8 is still in the works. EachPublish has been taking around six weeks or more. Moreover, these "mini-publish" dungeons typically appear a couple weeks after the main Publish they follow. So we could still be looking at several months before this goes Live. But it's something, and I'm especially glad to see that it's linked to a timetable. This is what I've been hinting at when I've been saying I thought the devs would soon be posting a bit more info of interest to us.

So, a small ray of hope shines. New songs! Be still my beating heart.

*cheers*

Can I say "It's about time!"

This sounds like the powers that beare finally taking some steps to preserve hope in the precious few remaining musicians (and other entertainment professionals) out there. I can't wait to see it...maybe it'll even make it out before the space expansion...

Thinking about it, as nice as it would be to have a "Social Publish" devoted to us, it is nearly as good to have a themepark devoted to us, hopefully the missions there will involve many of the ideas we've brought forward on how to add music content.

Thanks for letting us know, NewJedi, I appreciate all you've had to do getting this far with the dev teams.

I believe in part between the adjustments in jedi that are coming along the same pipe that the social adventure things appear to be that we will be looking at a much more lively and satisfied entertainment community in the coming months.

I'm still looking forward to the stages and theaters being fixed as this posed a problem back when I began planning for a theater group. Theatrical performances are the next step in the entertainer profession.

Though it seems sometimes the game mechanics don't always mesh well with whats practical and so this may take time to fix.

I usually have to assume if its a quick fix that it'd be done already.

Great news, and cheers to all.

NOW we are getting somewhere. If that schedule doesnt change we will only have to wait 3 months tops I do believe. Some of those other goodies on that list were cool too

Yep, I'm pretty excited about this. It combines two things we've been requesting for months -- new songs, and an entertainer-oriented POI or dungeon. Yay!

yay new songs and dances.

but the description is very vague in the report. I am wondering if the songs are given directly to you, ie you have to do the quest, or its like a schematic that u read and learn the song.

in all likelihood they may not have decided yet but i would hate to see people running around selling new songs like they do other items.

also it would be a shame if you got one song or another (ie like some of the current theme-park quests) because i would hate to be closed out of a song. all of them should be available to everyone.
