Working on it in a Cantina as I type this. My question is related to Xp. I notice my Xp changes depending on what instrument im using. Sooo
1. Does the Instrument affect Xp?
2. Does the song I play effect Xp?
3. What is the benefit of joining a band?
Thanks =)

Instrument affects XP. Newer instrument=more XP
Song does NOT affect XP in ANY WAY. You may hear rumors, they are false.
Depending on the size of the group, you get more XP. I could be playing my traz in a group of 10 and be getting twice the XP I would normally get. I don't know the exact equation, but more group members performing equates to more XP per tick.

Okey dokey, punkin, while I'm waiting on a shuttle, here goes:
- You get more xp if you play your most recently acquired song or instrument. There are a couple spots where you don't get one or the other. Since bands tend to play the lowest common denominator in songs, use the best instrument you can. The one you got the certification for most recently...age of instrument doesn't matter, they never decay.
- You get more xp if you're in a group with other actively performing musicians or dancers.
- You get more xp if people watch or listen to anyone in your group.
- You get more xp if someone watching or listening to you does /clap, /applaud or/cheer.
- The only way Entertainment Healing is actually more in a group is because you get more opportunities for someone hurt to watch someone or listen to someone in your group. There is no multiplier for number of performers beyond increased 'visibility,' as it were.
- You do not have to flourish to get Entertainment Healing xp. But you'll heal slower if you do not flourish, and patrons like to get the hell out of the cantina as fast as possible. Considering the spamfest that they've become, I quite agree.
- For more info, I recommend reading the stickified thread Entertainment for the Aspiring Jediin the Entertainer forum written by the former correspondent, SlickRiptide. While you may not be trying to open your FSCS, it's still got tons of useful info in it.
If you have any other questions, please let me know. I'm on right now as Starsider.tarot

False...like this one?
Song DOES affect XP gain!!!
You may not notice it however, because the base XP is based on the level of song OR instrument played. Therefore you will get the same base xp if you play SW1 on an Ommni Box or Jazz on a Slytherhorn (Jazz the song from Music Knowledge 4 not the music 4 level in Ent) or any other instrument for that matter.
It is better to play the lower songs on higher instruments. That way more people can also play the song and you get the same base XP but more modifiers. There are instances that you get new songs but no new instruments (Music 2 and Music Knowledge 1 I believe) so you may have to deal with not getting the best XP for a short time.

Just so we're crystal clear, GamerProX, by "most recently acquired" or "newest" instrument we do indeed mean the most "advanced" instrument for which you have a certification.

Song does effect it. Play Ommni on Jazz then switch over to Star Wars 2. You can notice the difference

I mastered entertainer tonight, and for one reason, the mandoviol =D I really like that thing. But im confused on if the Mandoviol is giving me more xp than the Traz, or not. *shrug*
Its taking me ages to get to Musical Knowledge I, amI doing something wrong? Im not a Holocron grinder, im a DE whos looking for something *fun* to do, and sense I play a fatold man.....well I thought Musician would be better suited for him =D
I do have a macro that juse does a Flo every 8 seconds. Nothing fancy. Is their a better way to get the Xp a tad faster?
