Thread: GIVE US ENTERTAINERS WHAT WE WANT...NOT WHAT YOU WANT

I told myself long ago that i wouldnt come here to complain...but I have to now. I have been a Entertainer (now Master in Entertainer, Music, and Dance) since the day SWG was released. I was there when no one had any money and Credits were not seen by us in the entertainment field. I was there when there were no cool clothes to dance in (you danced in your panties). Just before we got to do buffs i was about to change my Char. even though I didnt want to...BF healing and mind wound healing was not much fun. Listening to the same lame toons and dancing the same stupid moves was not any fun also. All my friends were leaving the game. Then shortly after you give us buffs...you give Chefs Brandy for mind buffs and the need for our buffs is badly hurt. Now you make us wait 15 seconds before we can start a song after we have stopped, and now I have to ask my customers that come to me for mind buffs that not only do they have to wait 8 mins for the buff they have to listen to me for 2 friggin mins first. And to make it all better you give us some CRAPPY batterie eating Droid that none of us want. I think most entertainers want 1) new songs 2) new dance moves 3) new instruments. If anyone at SOE can read would they please give us what we want not what you want to give us. PLEASE

If you cant have fun....get out of my sight.

Wow. But, um:

1. I've been a Master Rifleman. Brandy only goes so far, and was still prettyuseless unless combined with canapes. With a musician buff, I could play for hours without having to mess with being too full, or paying for expensive food.

2. It is still perfectly possible to do a dance buff in exactly 2 minutes totaland get the full buff. I assume the same is true for musician. Even if it isn't, I've seen reported times of about 5 minutes, not 8. And this pretty much confirms that SOE saw the 30 second buff as an exploit. Sucks, because I made good use of it, but if I'm going to get my panties in a wad about something, it will be something that does not work, and not a fixed exploit.

3. I am really loving the new entertainer droids. Have you actually tried them?

Just my 2 credits.

Oops, I was wrong... my math was bad, and it actually takes about 3:10 to do a full buff. But, that's still not 8 minutes, or even 5 minutes.

Its all BS. They get rid of a live entertainers 30 second buff and do nothing about the buff bot running 24-7.

Why bother? Thats the question...

I was a pure entertainer for about two or three weeks. That was a couple months ago, but I was doing the whole Master Musician/Dancer buff routine...and it got old fast.

May I recommend taking up a combat profession? Pick which you prefer, Dance or Music. You can drop the healing lines of one or the other, take up a single combat profession to full mastery to get the most out of it, go out and PvE and have quite a bit of fun when you're tired of staring at the same grey walls all the time. I'm a swordswoman, but you could do Fencer, Teras Kasi Artist (kung-fu performers are cool!), Pikeman, Pistoleer, Carbineer or Rifleman all to mastery and keep a mastery in either Dancer or Musician, and keep the Techniques and Knowledge lines of the other performing profession. If you're willing to sacrifice the Knowledge line of one of the performance tracks, you could also get Novice Scout or Medic to help out with the combat.

I'm a Musician first, foremost and always, so I'm keeping that Mastery. I dance for the buffing, to be honest. I've always hated the commentary I get because of doing it...but my friends really get a lot of mileage out of me being able to hit them for an 80% (with leotard) dance buff, and my in-game husband pouted something fierce when I dropped down from buffing using Exotic2 to Popular so I could take Novice in something. So I got Exotic2 back and all my friends and my RP spouse are happy, I still have combat capabilities for going out and having fun, and yet I have a large clientele that come to me for buffs because they know I do killer music buffs, and if they can't find an ATK master dancer, I can at least give them an acceptable backup buff there.

Just my thoughts, because I know how you feel. I just took a lot less time to get tired of the cantina. I hope you find something that maintains your interest.
