Something I've noticed in the past week (probablybeen going before then, but I haven't been spending much time in cantinas recently, so sorry if it's been mentioend before) that there's been several CMs offering to chuck low power mind diseases at(consenting) patrons, so that they'll have a large amount of mind wounds. Dunno abouteverybody else, but it seems a little wrong to me

Formerly:

Now gone.
Doesn't see the point of a bile-venting "I'm leaving" thread.

Well, the main thing to consider in this situation is that the patrons are volunteering for the disease. This is no differance then runing out into the field and let wild beasty incap you several times to gain the wounds. The main diffeance is this is safer. As a musician on Flurry, I have had patrons perform this and as a patron, I have volunteered for this. Sometimes, as a patron we can't always tip, but this allows them to help out.

Then again this is just my opinion on it.

Sure, common trick for leveling. I've never done it myself, but it's not different than dueling a commando and having them flame you to help someone get med xp.

This seems to have started around the time item decay upon death went into the game. Before that, there was plenty of entertainment healing exp to go around if you got into a large group in Theed,Coronet, or Bestine.I actually finishedthe healing trees long before the skill trees (dancer) in Bestine, when the AH<->Bestine raids were just about constant.

Seen it, done it, think it's a little sick but hey, we've all got our goals. Most of it will go away soon. Most.

Well it is kinda wrong, though well within the parameters of the game. The CM gets to throw some disease, the entertainers get the healing xp they desperately need. The victim also will not even incap as the disease will take them down to 1/1 and not go any farther.

This method for EH xp has been arround ever since the changes that introduced decay in game. At that point, the amout of EH xp coming through the door plumeted. This was one of many elegant systems to gain EHxp....of which only one has been removed as being inappropriate. That one was the "clone macro" that let you activate a clone anywhere you were...at any time...taking a full 100 body and mind wounds and 100 BF with no decay.

Here is a short list of the "grinding" entertainer healing methods.

1) Having someone die many times to PVP, (no decay) and activating clones to get wounds.

2) /Tenddamage, available at novice medic, heals deal minor wounds and BF for each use....unfortunately you get no XP for em but they take no resources or packs either. Even Better is /quickheal a medic 4th box skill, First Aid 4.

3) Mind disease. High level CMs can disease all 3 of the mind pools. When taken together and across many people this can produce extensive EHxp. This is the most common XP grind technique.

4) Sampling Radioactives...can only be done by artisans, and is often best done in a location in the field where the artisan samples, then a house is set up right next to the artisan so the entertainer can heal from just inside the door. Sampling radioactives wounds all the stat pools. You also need a medic to heal the artisans body wounds or he'll stop sampling when they get too severe. Its been done at static cantinas before, but the likelyhood of a good radioactive being near the cantina.....in a good concentration...by the door....is rare.

5) Heal mind. Avalable at the Ranged Healing 4 boxon the CM tree, it allows a CM to refill a mind pool for someone whiletaking excessive mind wounds themselves. This is often good healing a person grinding ID.

Oh and this is posted as part of the "Kill 'em with Kindness - Head 'em Up and Move 'em Out" campaign to take back the cantina from holotainers. Lets help them move forward so we can get back to entertaining!

It's actually not even all that shady. It lets each profession help the other. If anything, it promotes at least some socialzing, since it takes CM, "victim", and healer staying in the same place for a while to work things out.

Of course, I suppose you could macro it. Here we go again.

Its not really a bad thing at all in my opinion. The reason is there is a cost associated with the gain. In this case, it's a CM using up one of his assembled mind diseases. Actually, without this trick and a few others, I'd probably still be working on EH xp on Test Center(I've been playing there for 5 months) because the population is so much lower that eh xp is very hard to come by.

Do I think our EH xp requirements should be adjusted so we don't have to resort to such methods? Yeppers But, the method itself isn't bad because there is an equal cost and benefit.

your all gonna hate me but the way i got around probably 100k healing xp for dancer was hitting people with my gamorrean battle axe and giving them a mind diesese and then healing them. not great for my general reputation at first but there was many people who thought it was quite funny when i did it to them. and it was me wasting the uses on my precious dot weapon.
