Hello,

I started an entertainer on my second character, and am currently playing around with templates on the character builder.

My question is, why take Master Musician? Unless I'm missing something, I can get all the songs a musician gets except for one, by just skilling up the Musical Knowledge tree. I'm not sure what all the instruments are/do, so maybe there is a super cool one that Master gets?

I guess you also get the particle effects/light show stuff as master, but why not just skill up the tree containing that as well?

anyway, my current build is gonna be master entertainer, because I saw a guy playing the mandioval, and it looked great, and he said you had to be master entertainer. Then, I will skill up the Musical knowledge tree only. Anyone have a reason for me to go master musician?

Master Musician gets one song (virtuoso) and one instrument to play (nalargon). The nalargon is the keyboard you see that blue elephant looking thing play in the movies.

Whether it's worth it, thats subjective. Listen to someone who plays the song and instrument and see if it is for you.

Ahh, I've seen the Nalargon being played then, it is pretty darn cool. BUT, I'm going to be the best **edit** mandioval player in the galaxy, so I don't need the Nalargon. I do need to hear the virtuoso song. I have not heard much other than the first four tiers of the entertainer tree's songs, as that's all the majority of people can play when they let everyone in the band.

Virtuoso kinda isn't very good on the Mando solo, in my opinion.

I have not heard Virtuoso with a full band yet, so I can't comment on that. I've just heard it solo on the 5 instrument sounds.

Personally, I did Master Musician because I wanted to. Not because it got me the nalargon or virtuoso or because I have 100 wound and fatigue healing. I just wanted to be a master musician.

Narg is cool. For a while. Then you get jaded and hate going into the Cantina. No. Wait, that is prolly just me. Right Abici?

I am going to have to gradually give up my Master Musician skills as I pursue other professions. Master Entertainer was the first casuality. I will probably start surrendering the tech tree first. Healing seems to be harder to get.

I've been to 3 player organized events since I made master, all last weekend and netting 25K in fees.

Only Masters were invited to play and only Master Entertainers were invited to play at one of the events. (It was a wedding, and they wanted Ceremonial.)

There are some more events coming up, open to Masters only. So this is a good reason to have the title.

The real action for Musicians is out of the cantina, playing at events like these.

Also, IMO, the best song for soloing Virtuoso is the bandfill, since you get 3 sounds - vibes, percussion and bass. Kloo is next best.

Waltz is bestfor mandoviol solo.

i think it is worth it, I also play with ooolala for Astral Fantasia, let me just tell you, virt with a full band of nalas and chins, puuure perfection! =)

I personally love being master musician. The Nala is my intrument of choice. Of course I spend a lot of time in the game performing and I am in a regular band, Astral Fantasia, on eclipse server. The nala and extra song are great when played with others. This is just me though.
