Well, i've been thinking...

One of the biggest issues here is, "does the mandoviol belong to musicians?" IMHO, it does, but that's beside the point. The fact is, we're just going to be arguing back and forth and BACK AND FORTH over and over! So, the best way to compromise is...

Instead of taking from the ME and giving to the MM...

Give the musicians something new!

What new type of instrument does a musician desire? A stringed one of course! But we all know that the Mando is the only string instrument..so..

I propose a new stringed instrument; The "Vibro-Harp"! What is it? The Vibro-Harp (okay maybe it could be laser harp or something I just thought vibro-harp sounded cool) is a stringed instrument that looks a lot like a standing harp (although with a modern, technical starwars frame.. ya know?).

What does it sound like? I suggest it sounds like an amplified electric guitar...or ... an electric harp...

Who gets to use it? If they shift all of the instruments down a block (bandfill omni chid), place the Vibro-Harp in the fourth block.

Flourishes? I don't know.. that's up for the devs.. *shudder*


Thoughts? Comments? Flames?

A bagpipe that looks and sounds very similar to a swoop bike motor, tho the difference can be minimized by holding the swoopbike very still.

Honestly, I like this idea. If it were to be in-game, I'd imagine the devs giving it the same sound set as the mando, but that would be fine with me.

Don't know if this would satisfy everyone's urge to "play the guitar", but I for one would love to see this. My own opinion, of course.

An interesting sound for a Vibro-Harp would be like.. that.. egyptian music song.. whatever the hell you call that.

Well, you guys keep talkin' aboot a way to salve the Mandoviol Crisis... a new stringed instrument seemed appropriate. Now we just need NewJedi to force them to make it sound cool!

Now... a new song would be good... Rock2 (REAL rock!)... Techno? Disco? Rap? More songs that fit dances like poplock would be cool like someone else suggested.

Well, here's the thing:

If mando/cere is removed from ME, what incentive is there to master entertainer?

That's kind of why I proposed the harp, although it sadly still goes against what SOE said.

Dont remove it then... Just give it to MM as well. I BECAME a MM because I believed that:

"The Master Musician knows all the songs and instruments available, and has all the tools to put on a professional performance."

Now, if SOE made an oversight, CORRECT IT. If not, whats to prevent them from giving other Musical Instruments/Songs to ME's and not to MM's in the future.

Point is, I WILL NEVER use my dance, and I WILL NEVER use my ID, so let me give up ME and keep what SOE stated we would have from the begining...

I say we MM's REFUSE to make Mando's for anyone who is not an MM until they let both ME and MM have it.

I am not opposed to a Vibro Harp, even if I was at first against adding another stinged instrument to the MM. I have backed down from that position a little.

A very cool an unique sound needs to be assigned to it however, not just a carbon copy of the Mandovil, thats setting a bad precedent, since we are all lobbying equally hard to get them to make each instrument sound unique.

The Mandovil on some songs sounds like a clasical violin, I would not even be opposed to giving it an Electric Violin sound, and of course we would need it to sound similar to a classical harp as well.
