Thread: Gig mission wackiness
No, not another complaint about the reduced payout, I've pretty much resigned myself to it.
Ok, in the artisan board, it came up that the craft/survey missions apparently calculate mission difficulty (including payout) using the same code as destroy missions: it's based on your skill with your equipped weapon. Then tonight I needed a few hundred credits for a ship ticket, so I took a couple of 180 credit entertainer missions. Well, that wasn't quite enough, so I went to get two more. Well the second time, I couldn't get anything above 140 no matter how many times I hit refresh. Just for gits and shiggles, I switched from mandoviol to my scout pistol. Bingo, first refresh gave metwo 180 credit missions (although only one was for the hotel 80 meters away).
I admit I haven't done a lot of experimenting on this, but if you're consistently seeing low paying missions (relative to post-patch, of course), try equipping some weapon you have skills in.
I'm almost curious enough to find a pistoleer/rifleman/carabiner with novice entertainer to see if they would get 200+ missions. Then we'd have another reason to hate those combat-oriented entertainer dabblers.
Currently I have unarmed 3 and rifle 4, but soon will have Novice Rifleman.
Weilding a bandfill does 90 points of damage.
