Thread: buff length

I have been a musician since launch, but I have recently started adding rifleman skills to my character. Before Saturday, I had been giving musician buffs for months, but had never received one myself. They are truly an invaluable resource for players due to their length, and the fact that they do not take up food or drink stomach space. However, the length of the buff needs to equal the length of a doc buff. In general, people try to get those buffs (doc/musician/dancer) all at one time. It's annoying that the musician buff wears off an hour or an hour and a half before the doctor buffs. While it's true that as musicians and dancers we want people to come back for buffs again and again (as it's basically all we have to charge for), we could justify a higher price with a longer length. Like docs, the length ought to be tied to level, or even some sort of play dynamic (like "do /flourish X" for extra length).

Yep, I agree.

But the Devs must not. Bad Devs, bad....

The issue is that doctor buffs arecrafted, entertainer buffs are hard-coded. The devs have said they never expected doctor buffs to be this good and last this long. Instead, the plan appears to be that they'd all last about 2 hours.

There really isn't a way to match the variability of crafting with the entertainer buffs, so they're stuck at the lower length the devs expected.

I'm baaaaaack

Ironically, the buffs that the "character builder terminals" on TC2 give out are all three hours in duration - including the mind/focus/willpower buffs.

Obviously it's possible.
