  • Added Musician Playback Module to the DE skill tree: This module allows an entertainer or a musician to record a musical track onto the droid. The droid will then be able to play back the music that was recorded as accompaniment in the player's band. Multiple modules of this type will stack and allow multiple musical tracks to be recorded, although only one track can be played at a time
  • Added Entertainer Lighting Effects Module to the DE skill tree: These droid modules can have up to 5 unique lighting effects that can be used by dancers and musicians.

  • sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...minutes later he awakes to a group of friends standing around wondering if they should call 911...

What's this? Droids, and they're going to have a use beyond spewing gasses around the cantina! I don't know what to say other than to repeat Sartinius: SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a small thing, but a huge step in the right direction for the developers. Way to go, guys, let's keep up the work.

Can anyone from TC tell us how long these droids will play using just playback, no effects?

-Liloman Hammons, Novice Gunfighter ...but for how much longer?

    The playback works as follows:

the musicians starts the recording module

When the musician starts playing, the droid starts recording. It takes 30 seconds to record an instrument/song.

If you group with the droid, and use bandflourishes, you will get the droid to play. It will not record flourishes though.

There are 6 different lightning effects you can get installed into a droid:

    Avian,

    Confetti,

    Electric Fog,

    Foam,

    Mind Bloom

    and Dancing Jawas

You can program the droid to execute 10 effects, each with a duration of 3-60 seconds.

All in all, I think the entertainer modules look great.

and it will play as long as the batteries last......you need to feed it with bandflourishes if you want to make it pleasing to the ear...

so it doesn't actually record exactly what you play? i.e. the flourishes......... any /changesongs etc.?

but more accurately installs the song and instrument used?

so I can program an omni box on virtuoso then get it to play while I'm playing the chidinkalu on virtuoso......... do some /bandflos so it will flourish with me?

can dancers use the music droids after having been programmed by a musician?

thanks, and I tried going on TC last night but it was like severly broken for me lol!

    very excited...

Are the new lighting effects only for the droid?

if you're asking if players can execute them themselves......... I think no........ only the droids can do them.........

hehe, all these questions I have...

Do you have to use just /bandflo <#> or can you use /bandflo <#> <recorded instrument> or maybe /bandflo <#> droid

It just hit TC today....I'm trying to ramp up a high level musician there now....I'll see if I can get one and see about how it works.

However, TC seems to be a wasteland of echoy cantinas.

    Rogue_5

are we going to be able to have out more than one of the new droids at one time?

I know we can't have more than one droid out with a combat module, cuz they would imbalance the combat, but as I am a Master Musician can I have say one special effects droid out AND one playback droid out at one time? as long as neither of them have combat modules?

posted that in some test thread......... will you guys help me push this?
