So im doing the musician thing, going up knowledge first as that will unlock new instruments and songs, meaning more xp. I notice that im not really getting that much more xp though as i progress and use different instruments. after i got knowledge IV i was getting about 45 xp per tick with omni box, i was actually getting healing xp faster. So I mention this to the group im in how its strange that I maxed dance xp way before healing xp when doing dancer and it seemed to be vice versa for musician. They proceeded to tell me that they were getting 150 xp with their omni box, three times the amount i was getting. I tried logging for 15 minutes and when i came back I was getting 100 xp per tick with omni box, better, bot still 1/3 less then the average. AND, as time went on it gradually dropped back down to 45. I talked to a guildmate who had a similar problem They said going outside and playing, then coming back into cantina seemed to fix there problem.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Lets break this downreal fast......

First Healing XP vs. Music XP- The two are related in some ways but they are not directly related or proportional. You can have both extremes....great Music XP and NO healing or TONS of healing and no music. Healing is directly set as to how may people are getting wounds healed. Music works on its own formulae.

Now for music.....

Per the wonderful XP chart from Merendel (http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=musician&message.id=10985) base XP for Ommni doing double flourishes, or 2 every xp tick, is 40. Modifiers to that are aprox 5% for each additional person in group playing or dancing. Not enough for the people to be just in group, they need to be playing or dancing ALSO. Then there is a similar bonus for each person who is listening to or watching a group member.

The 46 you are talking about is low, but can be understandable given certain conditions. Small group, no healers, no listeners, frequent stops, random people taking up spots not playing, etc....The 100 xp you were getting should be coveted. In my experience the 100-120 xp range on an Ommni is rare, and should be enjoyed while it lasts. The people who are saying 150....well my record on Ommni was 140, and I've been playing since July. I have seen 150 on healing.....I've seen 500 on a regular healing tick and thousands on a buggy one. I have only seen 150 on a music XP tick on a Nalargon or playing Virtuoso....oh and I've seen up to 165 on that. If 150 was there, it doesn't suprise me that it didn't last long.

What were the exact parameters of the 46 xp.....that may explain why it was low or define it as a clear /bug.

It's been so long since I received Musician XP that my memory may be faulty, but your numbers don't sound out of line with what i used to get. I remember that it was unusual for me to get over 100 per tick, even in a big band.

It's certainly misleading to compare Musician numbers to Dancer; when I dance, I seem to get bigger spikes in XP (maybe healing XP?) than I ever remember getting as a Musician.

While I was working on mastering musician, I was getting about 100 exp per tick with an ommni box, without double-flourishing. So the amount you were getting seems right...
