My apologies if this has been posted before, but I don''t remember seeing it.
After playing in my band at a few gigs, I began to notice that there were two horn sounds, and we played around with the wind intruments. At practice today I got one person playing one horn, then swapped to each other for each song. I found that there is indeed two horn sounds, and for each one there are three horns that play it, same for EVERY song. They do sound slightly different if it's one horn or two playing the one sound.
Horn Sound 1 - Chid horn, Fizzz and Kloo.
Horn Sound 2 - Fanfar, Slitherhorn and Traz.
Then there's the omni box and bandfill which pretty much sound the same on every song.
Then the mandoviol and nalargon, which are nice and different.
So, you can get songs with evey sounds with a band of five, butsix sounds good too if you double up on either the base or the horns. Another neat trick we've found is that two people can play one nalargon at the same time, and if you rotate yourself so you're standing on either side, you don't bump into each other and you stay on the keyboard. Try it out!

This has been on every top-five list I've submitted to the devs since launch. ![]()
My guess is that it's too late to do anything about the existing songs. We can only hope that new songs will give each instrument a unique sound.

What instruments does the chidinkalu horn sound out when you're playing it without a band?
