Thread: Idea, what do the other Musicians think?

I'm not sure if this has been brought up before, beings that I've just recently got the game, and I'm barely into the Entertainer tree, muchless the Musician one (I'm doing boht Master Marksman and master Musician, and sampling another tree with the left over), but I just had an interesting idea while listening to Ravel's Bolero while studying: changing one's dynamic level (loudness, for those musicians here that are not RL musicians) while playing. Obviously, this would only be useful for the actual musicians and what not, and then maybe only the better ones, but the subtley that could be added to the music, and the differences between various bands would be well worth the effort in coding for the devs, and the effort in getting the music to sound right would be worth it in my opinion.

The different dynamic levels are:

Softest -----------------------------------> Loudest

Pianisimo (PP), Piano (P), Metzo-Piano (MP), Metzo-Forte (MF), Forte (F), Fortisimo (FF)

Would any of the other musicians be interested in this? Apologies if this is disjointed; it's late here, and I'm burned out from studying.

I think this would be a wonderful idea. It would allow each band to adjust accordingly to make a common song like StarWars1 soundsmore unique. I see no issues with doing it, and I am completely all for the idea.

Yes... and changing pitch, too. Changing rhythm. I'd like it so a flourishmight sound one way if by itself, but sound completely different depending on another flourish that came right before it, and another way depending on another flourish. It would be great if you could create a macro and be creative with it and make a song that almost seemed unique. Imagine walking into a cantina and hearing some young hotshot musician playing a song... and being jealous. Then trying to show him up with your own macro. Then combining your macros, and it becomes something else even better.

As it is now... same ol' same ol.'

It's a good idea. I've suggested something like this to the devs in the past, and I haven't really heard back from them on it. I'll put it on our Big List O Ideas for them, though.

i like it

interestingly also depending on where u rotate your camera when u play in a group different instruments sound louder than others (based on distance from the player)

so if i play nala and stand behind a chid player, the nala is loudest when my camera is behind me but the chid is loudest when my camera is in front of the chid player - neither of us have moved positions. just something to think about if this were implemented

Great idea! If only the devs would implement it soon, though...
