Thread: Group Tipping
Don't know if this idea has been kicked around or not but here it goes. When tipping a fairly large group I find it to be rather tedious to go and tip each individual character... Could we maybe get a /tipgroup command. I think this would eliminate some entertainers from being missed by a tip and make it alot easier to actually tip a large group of musicians and dancers.
I.E. /tipgroup 1000 would split it up among the whole group or however many people you have. Like I said don't know if this has been kicked around at anytime but if it has where's the command? ![]()
Also after I posted this I thought with the command some kind of range would also have to be implemented... Say 30 or 40m's or something like that. I find some group members tend to wander off and shouldn't get the tip if they're not in close range of the group. My thoughts anyway...
Now I'm not going to pretend to know how the devs handle the priorities and if they handle them in a particular order. But adding flourishes and new sounds sounds like a lot more work than adding a /tipband feature.
Would it matter if this was a higher priority? Or do the devs make that decision on their own?
In accordance with my charge from the devs, I developed our list of priorities based on the frequency and volume of feedback I receive in this forum and the game itself. By far the most-frequentMusician requests are (1) more distinct sounds, so that the slitherhorn doesn't equal the fanfar, and (almost exactly as frequently) (2) new songs and flourishes. Tips actually came in a distant third place -- mentioned much less often, and in general less passionately.
In fact, some people don't like the idea of /bandtip at all; they say that this unduly rewards AFK-macroers and the like -- though of course tippers could still just /tip individuals. For other people, /bandtip just isn't that important; they do fine with individual tips, and might actually do worse with group tips. For me, making money has always been easy in SWG, so /bandtip isn't even on my personal top-five list -- but my job is to report player preferences, not to lobby for my own.
