I dont know if this has been mentioned before, but why cant you change the musical and dancing visual effects (dazzle etc.) to draining mind pool instead of action pool? That was the cantinas might be abit more entertaining, and it doesnt really increase our xp rate since people dont use them much now anyway.

Well first of all it wouldn't make much sense either way seeing how some sort of equipment would actually be required to make those effects. Its not something that someone could just "learn" and perform at any given moment.

When done this way it just makes you value your action bar a bit more. You have to decide whats better. Flourishes or flash. Want a great show? Just ask a medic to stay nearby and heal your bar when it starts to get low. You both make out very well in the end.
It promotes cooperation between different classes.

Besides. Entertainers work best with other entertainers. With a group full of Special Effects knowledgable musicians and dancers, you will have more than enough flash to last an entire show.

Just adapt.

Really? Because I team with master musicians and dancers alot, and they dont really use their effects often... from time to time, sure, I just wouldnt mind more.

Thats more of a matter of simply just forgetting to use them I think.

I run into the situation a lot, where I will be playing, and even though I am switching up instruments and songs alike, I just don't remember that I have special effects.

Personally its not that new anymore. People are used to seeing it by now because they are always going to encounter an entertainer who has them. I was very quick to get FX on my server. For a while I got plenty of "oooh. Ahhh. Thats cool. What is that?" comments. But I don't get them anymore. So entertainers for the most part just don't bother because it really doesn't do anything in the long run.

I think I use mine with conjunction with switching a song. But even sometimes I forget to do that.

I use light effects a lot actually. Sure they drain a lot of action for no reward, but my stats are built around performing, and soI have an extremely high action bar, and superb action regen etc. With this build I can't put a dent in my action without using light effects, and since I can easily spare it, I use as many light effects as I can. I think it sets me a bit apart from the novice entertainers that are playing around me, and I know on a given night I make a bit more in tips. Maybe it's appreciation for me being at keyboard and interacting, or maybe it's me standing out from the crowd with the lights. In any case I believe in putting on the best show I can, and so I use my effects.

There are certain places during flourishes for both dancing and music that I like to use effects. For instance...when I jump onto the nalargon, I "flash" into new all-white clothing using the spotlight effect. It's fun do to occassionally, but given the action cost (and the non-reward), I do it only sparingly.
