The devs have been debating whether togive one or more professions the ability to heal mind damage (as opposed to mind wounds) in the field. Holo says the devs have talked about conferring this ability on Squad Leaders, Entertainers, or Medics. They've also tossed around a heal-over-time versus instant heals. The thread is at

You might want to take a look, and if you havea view, post it there. I'm also curious what you think, so feel free to post here as well. Personally, I'd love to have the ability to heal mind damage in the field; it would add an interesting new dimension to our roles, and it would make PvP more interesting as well. What do you all think?

This has been a lively debate in Entertainer

One such thread is someone who strongly supports the idea of Musicians healing mind damage:

Personally, I don't think current full-time Entertainers "need" to heal mind damage. Giving them the ability basically gives them all of exactly one way to contribute to battle. In my opinion, if they wanted to contribute to battle, they'd already have picked up other skills to do so.

Having only one thing to do during a fight is boring though. Now this gets to where I really want to be

I outlined a concept called the "Master Engager" in this thread:

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=entertainer&message.id=3748

In short, I'd like to see a new advanced profession off of the basic Entertainer track that would be all about mind damage healing and music-based buffs (battle songs). It would involve giving Engagers a lesser ability at instruments (they can't learn anything above Mandoviol) and only two actual songs (versus the five or six additional that an ME/MM can learn). Their role is the traditional Bard archetype.

Seriously though, is that a bad thing?

Holo himself isn't sure what Entertainers want, which is why he dithered on the "we don't want to make Bards... or do we?" I don't know what most people want

But for me as an individual, I loved twisting songs in EQ. I loved the subtleties of playing a Bard. Even just being able to heal and regen over time was fun when ya had the right twists. The cache-flourish system here is ideal for song twisting too, and most of us who stick with music have "written" our own "songs" already through sequential flourishing. In effect, we're already twisting

I wouldn't give up MM for it (when I hit it), but I'd give up whatever skills I'd need to give up from Medic, Scout and Carbineer

Yes, I prefer a new class to do it rather than "full time" entertainers.

But I think it is more likely that either entertainers or squad leaders will get the skill. It's just easier.

Thread read, comments added.

I had a Force sensitive character, with 23 and a half boxes ground out.
I had a master creature handler.
I had a high lvl crafter character.
I had a Bounty Hunter that I hunted PC Jedi with.

My game is dead.
