Thread: Musician Missions...
Ok, when the Entertainer Mission terminals went up, I thought, Wonderful! Now, I'm on the verge of being REALLY ticked. Nothing but Dancer Missions. Ok, I said, it's new, give them time.
Still nothing but dancer missions. Nothing for Musicians, nothing for Image Designers.
Either change the name to Dance Mission Terminals, or get of the stick and provide some missions for the other entertainers! One week, ok, two weeks, not so ok, three weeks, inexcusable.
How are Image Designers supposed to advance? There is almost no demand for their services. Certainlyno missions.
And musicians? I guess it's the street corner for us, because the Dev's don't even seem to have us on their radar.
And I am not happy about it.
I'm new to the Musician profession and I have a question about the mission terminal. When I accept a gig it directs me to a cantina, for example, and the description tells me to play; if I'm "good enough" I'll get my money. However, I can't find the NPC that's supposed to be the contact for the gig. Am I supposed to show up at the venue and just start playing? Are credits deposited into my bank after so many minutes of playing? How does it work?
Hi ZioGiovanni,
The mission will direct you to the outside of the cantina or hotel. You simply go inside and play; there is no NPC to talk to. You have to acquire a set amount of music XP to "win" the mission, which means you must play (and flourish) nonstop for a good 10-15 minutes, depending on whether you're in a large band, what level instrument you're playing, etc. If you don't run out Action points, you'll eventually get a system message on your screen informing you that the mission is complete.
NPC-given entertainer missions work this way too.

Actually, that's a misconception. I tested this out a few weeks back, and all you have to do is play for 10 minutes straight. Xp gained, flourishes done, etc have no effect. Just /startmusic; /pause 620; /stopmusic will complete the mission (the ten minute mark is sometimes off a tick or two, hence the 620 instead of 600).
The previous Noble missions may have been based on xp, but I didn't do any serious testing on it. The new missions (both terminal and NPC) are strictly time based. You can even do a /changemusic in the middle without resetting the mission clock.
