Thread: Gig Missions are a joke and an Insult. Fix em or get rid of em
I am a master musician. You are going to tell me that a newbie on a slitherhorn can make as much as a master on a nalargon? I have 150K credits in the bank from harvesting. I wipe my arse with 100 credits.
You know how they say the biggest insult to a waitress is a 1 cent tip, because she then knows you at least thought about it....I consider this to be comepletly on par. Entertainers and Medics are the only 2 professions you cant make a complete living off of, and doctors can at least sell stim packs.
I am EXTREMELY insulted at this, and cannot be more upset.
OMG, I just load up the game, and took a gig person. Same crap... only 149 credits!
What? This is NOT cool, let's bring back 400-600 ones! ![]()

k... I must be retarded then, 'cause I can't figure it out.. been playing for forever on the way point, and nada, I KNOW I'm doing something wrong.. but could someone tell me what is right?
Itren,
Just so you know, gig missions aren't actually a new addition, it's the terminals that got added this patch. They were received only from NPCs before. Do a quick search in the Musician or Entertainer boards for "gig mission guide", and you should come up with some good descriptions.
However, just to make it easy on you, here'sa quick rundown on some common things I've heard that made people abort their mission.
-
Don't play at the waypoint, play *inside* the building the waypoint is at the entrance to. The reason for this is that waypoints can't be created inside buildings. Anyplace is fine, as long as you're inside the door.
-
Completion is based on accumulating some set amount of music xp (I don't know the actual value), and this all has to be done in one "performance". So keep those flourishes going, and don't stop playing. Even /changemusic will reset the mission.
- Wrong type of mission. I actually haven't played today, so I'm not sure how different the terminal missions are from the old NPC ones. Entertainer missions previously (and still do from the reports I've seen) had a "type" of Dancer, even for the music ones. Check the mission details, and see whether the long description refers to dancing or playing.
Thanks for the help..figured it out before you replied, but I appreciate getting the answer
before today, I was doing destroy missions for creds, but, this is easier and quicker...
Folks are complaining about the low cred amount, but think about this.. most cantinas and other things have these mission terms right outside them.... use the term, find two missions nearby going to the same spot.. do your performance, get the almost 400 credits, go run a few seconds, grab two more missions, rinse and repeat. it's faster than destroy missions, as most of those are about 1k meters from town or more, then you have to run all the way out to them, destroy, yeah, you get 2k or so creds (or did, before today's patch) then you have to run alllllllll the way back, get more missions...
just in the last 10 minutes I"ve made almost 2k creds... takes me longer than 10 mins to do ONE destroy mission.. so don't give up hope, musicmen can still make creds... but I still think medics are screwed
I just think 149 from 549 is ridicolous reward drop!
I don't think it's worth it anymore, cuz shuttle rides are that much range (149)...
Has anyone seen any terminal-based missions that require a certain degree of skill to complete? E.g., it would be nice if Master Musicians could get fancier gigs than beginners.
Also, does either the Empire or the Rebellion have any of the new profession-based terminals? I haven't seen any. I know that you can get gig missions from some NPCs in either faction. If gig missions from terminals also gave faction, more people might find them to be worth it.
Hmmm, I am kinda surprised not enough people reply about this.
It dropfrom 549+ to 149 is not something you want to complain about?
This patch has caused a good bit of complaints from the masses. All I hear is waa waa waa. The BH are doing nothing but complaining."I got nerfed." "I'm not more powerful than everyone else."They b*tch that they have been nerfed. Well, to them I say, "Shut the f*ck up." The musiciansARE a nerf class. We get a limited choice of songs, we have no good missions, and half the instruments sound just like another instrument. The reason they havent nerfed us is because there is nothing to nerf us to.

Shh, be careful. They may decide to make *every* instrument sound like a slitherhorn and give all songs the patented SW1 'wah wah wah' base riff...
As for the payout, yes I'm a bit ticked that the only "in class" credit sourceentertainers had dropped 60%. Maybe the devs have the same mindset as the non-tippers who say "but entertainers don't need to pay for anything; besides, you're getting EXPERIENCE for it..."
/sigh
Guess I'm going to have to rely on my chef products to keep me in the lifestyle to which I have become accustomed...
(regarding the chef comment:I can't make Tatooine Sunburns, so feel free to laugh at me. I'm in my own little world that has little or no relation to reality...)
