I don't know about you but come on people at least play the game ONCE IN AWHILE!

In the coronet cantina the musican who spouts Sir Robin (you can set your watch by his poem) has not moved in, to my personal knowledge, atleast9 days! I've spend a fair number of hours there myself earning my own XP and have never seen him be anything but AFK(if I was a dev I would turn him into an NPC and get it over with). Periodically he is the subject of unspeakable acts of dialogue degradation (the board of health andthe censorswould be shocked at what goes onin that cesspoolsometimes) and he has become anembarrassment to the other musicans who actuallyplay the game!

I'm notunsympathetic I know the XP for Master is set high for the entertainmentprofession and I wouldn't be the least bitsurprised to learn that every Master Dancer and Musican out therehas mac'd part of their xpbut get real.. I mean 24 hours a day (or however long the server is up) 7 days a week?and week after week! It makes the whole entertainer profession lookbad and so I youask you How Much Macro is TOO MUCH!

I am a Master Musician on the Ahazi server. I will admit to using a macro. However, it was maybe a 5 minute macro and I never ever looped it. Whenever my character was logged in, the only times I was away from the keyboard was when I was either using the bathroom or getting a snack. Its these pathetic excuses for musicians/dancers who do the during sleep or at work macros. If you arent man/woman enough to sit at the keyboard while your character is getting experience, then you dont deserve master or any experience for that matter. The devs need to make it so if you are afk for 10+ minutes, the server kicks you out. We dont need these beyond lazy wusses giving us musicians( or dancers for that matter) bad names. If I ever get one of those in my band, I stop the band and boot them so they miss out on all that xp their worthless hides dont deserve.

Ok 1. Kicking a player for being AFK for 10 mins isn't the answer cause entertainer or not if I go to get something to eat I turn on the AFK notification so people know I'm off to get some food. If it takes me 15 mins to eat I don't want to have to reconnect to get going again. Secondly although I'm not saying these people are right for doing this but from what I've read about what entertainers endure they might as well be AFK all the time. From players being rude to them, to no appriceation for them offering a service, yes service, to the players for healing their mind wounds and BF. Trust me those things are VERY important. An entertainer has to constantly be playing or dancing to make any kind of progression cause the XP they aquire /per flourish is way to small to dance or play per request to heal a person's mind wounds. It'll take them 5 years litterly to make Master. It could be worse. They could be active trying to find exploits in the game.

I think this is not a top pirority.

How Much Macro Is TOO MUCH!

If it's obvious that it's a macro, it's too much. Simple as that.

sry for the double post but would like this to be seen before I make my way out of the profession.

Add a "silence" command amongst musicians. If player A is actually present and player B is macroing for the sake of customers at odd hours, let player A temporarily "silence" player B while in cantina.
This way, the present musician is able to get business and enjoy the profession. The "silence" command would be temporary so that when player A leaves, Player B's macro will eventually kick back in to help our beloved customers in need.

Thanks.

I know of which you speak on Chilastra/Corellia/Coronet/Cantina. Yes, I agree he is annoying. When questioned, he says it gets him tips. I have sent him emails that if he has to grind xp, do it quietly - to no avail.

The only way these people will learn is if you send them an email and tell them you don't like it. If you are too shy, use the /addignore N'Orph (oops, I said it) and he shall trouble you no longer.

Macros are not the problems, how people use them is. Group leaders have always had the power to disband someone. Just as in RL, there will always be someone who annoys someone else.

The quality, or lack thereof, of some of the conversations is another thread entirely. You can always dump the thread to the CSRs and let them deal with it.

Wahh Wahh Wahh

All I hear is complaining and whining. You want some cheese with that whine??? Come on its all really nice to know many of you only have to get up for school and have the rest of the day to sit at your comp and press buttons all day. But there are many people who are at work and/or school at night and only get to play on weekends. Now I am not about to pay a subscription to a game that I am unable to play for more than 8-10 hours a week at best and be stuck down in the dreggs of the entertainemt society all my life. If you want to complain try aiming your keyboard at the devs who set such a asinine xp cost for skills where all you do is sit there and get nothing better. I mean look at music knowledge 2 all you get is the bandfill. Woopidy dooo!! I really like to play music in the game and I'm also a amature musican IRL. I can see working hard to get a new special attack or a new weapon cert THAT CAN BE USED JUST ABOUT ANYWHERE!!!!!! we have to slave away and get stuck with something that is only effective to gameplay when we are in 1 of 5 locations, camp, house, cantina, hotel, theater, and only in 3 of those can we utilize all our abiliities to thier fullest extent.

With all due respect LordZaith, these types of games are meant to be played for hours and hours at a time (no matter how much they say you can sit down and play for half an hour or so and get someplace =) ). I don't think being mad that you can't spend the hours that it's suppose to take justifies your complaint. From how you talk you seem to know that it does indeed take hours and hours to gain the skills for the Entertainer professions when you became a Novice Musician and maybe it's just not for you...

I will admit I am a kid that goes to school and can play the rest of the day pressing buttons as you call it. I happen to enjoy doing that. If you know it's just 'pressing buttons' then whats in it for you when you become a Master Musician? You will do the same thing you are doing now except you will have better songs and insruments. I look forward to having those things and I am very very proud that I do not macro =)

I HATE IT when they have that stuff. I have had CRAP

"wille wonka is my hero"

'go WOOKIE GO'

etc.

I never have used a marco. The only music related marco i have is for all the B flourishes. (for dancing )

ANY Marco is a bad marco, ONLY when the person is not there. Of course, there is this one dude on Ahazi. His name Is Sleep-three I think. All he does is come on, play music. NO marco, NO moving, NO AFK FLAG!!!!! When i try to invite him, he aways declines. He must have a decline for a marco....
