Thread: I go brawling, and, surprisingly ...
... I win. My main is a Master Musician, Master Entertainer, Novice Carbineer -- with no Novice Brawler skills, no unarmed skill, none of that. I dueled a friend; we both wore street clothes, no armor. My friend has at least Novice Brawler and I'm not sure what else; she kept hitting me with all these unarmed-attack moves. I just swung. Yet somehow I seemed to be winning; her health went down much further than mine before we had to call it quits.
Is this because of the Master Musician's bonus to melee defense of +7? My total melee defense is +9, I think; I'm not sure where the extra +2 is coming from. Does it make that big a difference?
It makes a difference. A good bit actually![]()
I've also dueled and we are hard to hit.
We are sleepers cause noone thinks entertainers are anything combat wise.
I know a ME 1h swordsman that is amazing. I've seen him duel with standard no bleed no knockdown rules win repeatedly
Once to a NBH.
I'm a shooter and I sidestep attacks a ton if I'm close and not kiting.
I'm curious did she lunge>dizzy you at all. Did she Zerk?
Straight up duel with your defense wasnt very fair you big bully![]()
As a Novice Carbineer, you have amassed enough skills along the way to also have trained Ranged Weapon Support. If you trained that line at all, you get +2 Melee Defense at "Advanced Ranged Weapon Support Abilities" (Ranged II).
Basically most of the novice unarmed skills take a great deal of ham to use and are questionable use vs players. Intimidate, and the roar do not seem to have much effect on players. The unarmed 1 attack does almost as much ham damage to the attacker as it does to its target. If they have jab and are using that they are doing MORE damage to themselves than they are doing to you. berzerk allows for an extra 75 damage I think on a hit but it fails often and eats away their health when it fails to go off.
If they would have just used a couple of these skills the fight probably would have gone the other way but if they were really mashing them it is pretty easy to see that they would lose.

She did use berzerk at least a couple of times, and you're right, that hurt her more than me. Actually, at first she seemed to have a slight advantage, but the longer the fight went on, the more things went my way. And yes, I do have Ranged Support II, so that (together with Master Musician) explains my +9 to melee defense. As for regeneration, I know I've pumped stat points into mysecondary action stats, butI was surprised that I was beating her not only on action points but also on health -- an area in which my Musician ain't thebest.
Anyway, I was surprised how fun it was. And stillsurprised that I won. I fully expected to be beaten into a pulp. It was her idea, not mine!
Figure it this way.... the average SWG musicians hang out in bars constantly.
Imagine how many good old fashioned barfights they probably ought to have had by Master Musician!
*grabs the annoying pugnacious guy next to him, punches him in the face, and throws him sliding down the bar - drinks go flying everywhere!*
