Is there an easy way to get people motivated to help and participate in your event? yes. do something they belive in... the event is doing what you want but fashioning it in a way "they" want... thats how you get the crowds. As many successfull people have said.... know your audience. For instance we all know the forum troll jasonk... for his type, you would not promote the fact that there will be entertainers there cause his type wouldn't come. He would want xp fests or pvp fights with afk ents... you would promote that. So know who you are promoting to... learn how to contact them and make sure they help promote the event if they like the idea.

Is there a way to attract musicians and entertainers besides events that include prizes? make it seem fun for them. Usually tho (at least for my band) its unlikely they will show unless its a paid gig. That also spans from the fact that we do so many however. Most ppl wouldn't even do as many as we do because its just insain. So for us we usually take the time off to go play our own way. If an event is part of it... then we go. But you don't need a band per say for a successful event. You and another ent may be all that is nessisary.

I have minimal money to offer said prizes, so the start-up cost for large events is a barrier for me currently. Have you spent large amounts of time finding sponsors and prizes? I spend about 15 minutes of the two to three weeks finding sponsors. I always make sure to do an event that others will get behind and want to get involved in. Thus I have an imediate helper. The only one i did on my own was the battle of the bands, and even that wasn't really alone.

Do you have any other start up tips for a Master Musician trying to start a steady group? Yes... travel constantly. You will be able to tell w/in a few minutes if you are simmilar to someone. Also get the word out that your looking, have your audience help you look. If you cant tell, I don't do anything alone. I always try to get others involved and delegate the work as much as I can. Truely the main thing I do is promote. Im a good promoter in game and irl. So mostly i promote like hell and get others to do the leg work as much as its possible for me to while keeping my vision.

Do you have any special techniques for making rehersals fast, fun, and easy to learn for the group? There is no fast way to do this. Basicly you just have to slowly work on the macros and test them. The fun wya tho... switch off, let someone else try their macro for a while.

I'm sure the answers are going to involve time on task and networking, so maybe I already know what I need, I just don't look forward to the task with my casual gaming style. All things do. Focus on promoting yourself and your ideas but only if they are ones people are getting behind. If not, drop it and don't waste your time. Come back to it later as your sphere of influance has increased. Like with my events. They usually are large because people know they will be fun and full of people. They do so because I "test" ideas out on ppl for a bit by droping those ideas to see reactions. When i get enough wow that would be cool, I put it into action. Then the people i've tested the idea on, are the first i go to to get help. If your a casual gamer, you'll for sure need help. But also you have to get known for the top events, gigs. That way ppl will pay attention when you say there is something they shouldn't miss.
