Thread: Group buffs?

As a newbie musician I decided not to offer buffs until I could do decent ones which pretty much means master, and as 0-0-4-3 I'm in no position to offer buffs for cash anyways, but a PA member came into the cantina to get wounds healed and as I was currently out of a group I grouped with him so I didn't get an invite whilst I was sorting his wounds and battle fatigue as I don't like to join a group and not say thanks at the very least, but when he left the cantina he said I'd buffed him for 57 willpower, admitedly it's not very much but I wasn't even targeting him and had no intention to even try and buff him so I don't know why this happened, do you just buff people grouped with you if they watch you? Also can musician buffs be over written by better buffs like Doc buffs can now incase I buff someone else by mistake?

Yep, there is a grouped buff, sometimes called the "passive" buff. If you perform and flourish for someone grouped with you, and they /listen to you, they will get your buff. The extent of the buff depends on your Musical Mind Enhancement skill, which in your case is small because you're a Novice Musician with no Tech skill boxes. For more on this and other aspects of the buff, see my Buff FAQ, sticki'ed in this forum.

No, our buff is not overwritten by doctor buffs. Docs don't buff the"blue" stats at all. There is one major glitch with our buff, though: if the recipient dies, his buff will drop -- but he won't be able to get a new buff until the original buff "timer" winds down to zero.

Anyway, enjoy.

When I said "like a doctor buff" I meant that now if a low doctor buff is applied to someone, a better buffpack can over ride that low buff, I was simply asking if a buff by a novice musician can be over written byt a buff from a master musician? Been a master doc for a few months now, I'd be in trouble if I thought we could buff minds Anywho thanks for your reply most appreciated. A few sleeepless nights and days off work have gotten me to 4-0-4-4 now though I suspect I may keel over and die trying to get the final line.

I don't believe it can be overwritten. I know that I have had people listen to me and not listen long enough [no one follows instructions...], get a partial buff (1 hour, 20 minutes, for example), then someone new joins the group, and they *do* listen long enough, the new person gets the full 2 hours, and the original person does not get reset to 2 hours, but stays with what they had. But that is not quite the same thing as being overwritten by a better buff. If I can ever find a non-virtuoso, I'll give that experiment a try. I don't think it'll work though. Not quite the same amount of love shown to musicians as to doctors. =)

I'm pretty sure you the buffee has to wait till the buff wears off to reapply. This happened when I did a dance buff, and the person didn't listen to me about stopwatching before the music buff. Luckily the buff wore off in 10 minutes, but I tried to rebuff and it did not work.
