This isn't really a solution, more of just a really really cool thing... the ID correspondent, Kwee, posted on the Dancer forums that they are adding a command to ignore all AFK text. She said it was in the Pub 9 patch notes on Test. So perhaps people will just ignore all AFK spamming (I know I will ), and will never even know the buffdrones are even there. Nice thought

I saw on my server today that an AFK musician/dancer has taken up residence in Theed to buff 24/7. Having a master musician of my own on another server, I came up with two solutions on AFK buffing.

Solution #1: Make it so you have to /setperform. If they are in a group watching you, they won't get buffed. However, you could /setperform on multiple people to compensate the loss of group buffing.

Solution #2: Make it so you can still buff groups, but a little pop-up box pops up and asks you. It could either be for each person or for the group as a whole.

These are just some thoughts I had. I don't know if they've been suggested before or not... but they sounded good to me so I thought I'd share them.

Thoughts?

Solution #1 wouldnt work

/targetself;/cycletargetoutward;/setperform; {Continue AFK Macor}

heh scratch that one then. What do you think about solution number 2?

Oh and on the AFK ignore command... some people macro without setting themsevles to AFK. If they run the right macro, the game will never set them to AFK status.

Howdy all,

Hope you are all well.

I would suggest we be given the capability to record buffs to sell. This would eliminate AFK buff bots. This could be added to our new Droids recorder module, an option to record a buff disk. I don't want to have to craft it out of resources, the droid would just make it as we play for the same amount of time that we do now. When done recording it, the disk would be placed in our inventory to be given to the person wanting the buff. They would click the disk to use it...and be buffed according to the abilities of the Musician that made the disk.

With a feature like this, and the emlimination of Hologrinding, our profession would be back to the way it was at the beginning. It would be fun again.
