Thread: Songs I Would Like To See Put In

Something has been nagging me at the back of my head for a while now about our songs. Something I couldn't quite put my finger on. Now I understand:

Nearly all of our music has the same mood.

With the execption of Ceremonial and Waltz (kinda), all of our songs are in the "Upbeat, happy, dance-to" mood. Not all music is meant to be like this.

I've seen some beautiful Ceremonial songs (with lyrics) that have actually touched me in real life. I've also seen Waltz kinda put me into that dignified mood. I want more like this. Sad songs, serious songs, emotional songs. Something like...

A Requiem

A sad, mournful song but can still be beautiful and touching in a way. There are several situations in the game where I've tried to fit the mood with music, but found the songs to be too happy for the occasion. A deep and slow requiem could do wonders.

A Minuet or Serenade

Something like Waltz but with a more uplifting tune. A higher pitch, faster tempo, and more crescending flourishes to really give an emotional song at our disposal.

A Classical Song

Some might say this is what Waltz is, but there's a difference between the Waltz song and classical music. Classical has a wider variety of tempos and pitches. This could be the "better Waltz."

A Mariachi or Bolero

Ok, I said I want serious, but this just popped into mind as I was writing this. A very fast, very upbeat song would be great for public performances with dancers. Besides, who doesn't want to be in a mariachi band?

And last but not least...

A Factional Song!

I've been wanting to bring this up for a while now and should probably put this in the Cool Ideas thread, but oh well. I think faction recruiters should "sell" their faction's song to musicians (or maybe Entertainers to be fair to the dancers). It's not like a normal song: it can only be played with one "instrument" that's crafted by Master Musicians...a Holorecorder or something. It can only be played viaa droid's playback module (maybe...) and is an extra track on the module, even if you only have one installed. I don't know...something along these lines. I just want to play the Imperial March (and you Rebels can have that Redemption at Abridon music).

Anything else you guys can add?

I agree 100% - I was dissappointed when I got Ballad and Folk to find them far too 'happy'... Neither has the kind of tone which you'd associate with the genre in real life, and I know exactly what you mean by the 'being touched' thing.

I also agree, factional songs would be awsome! Sitting in Anchorhead playing a Rebel Victory song, or switching to Bestine to play the Imperial March to inspire troops fighting off a rebel attack.

Great ideas!

100% agree with this idea.

Many times i play my Nalargon or my Mandovial and wonder what it'd be like to have access to a greater range of music.

It'd be nice to see a new peice of music with ever other publish. I'm sure that new music every two months isn't beyond the scope of the devs.

Of course we keep mentioning more music and more instruments and more flourishes....

Although, its not very Star Wars, a specific song I would like to have in my repetoire would be Amazing Grace. Its public domain, so it is legal. I get frequent requests for someting somber, or something like it. The closestwe getof course is ceremonial or ballad.

I think the song could become Star Wars sounding with a mix of electronic, and/or the current horn, sounds. Although I would like for the bandfill to have the main tune and sounding like a bag pipe and snare drum.
