...that the dev team is not at all focusing on the ground game right now.

I especially like how the entertainer quests are now a "unique game experience."
I'm one unhappy pappy (and not just with relation to the entertainer playstyle). This is becoming less and less an MMORPG every day.
Blah, I obviously don't even have the words.

This does it... i'm really tempted to do the following:
Post my "How to contat SOE and tell them your opinons on the GCW/Combat Rebalance BEING DELAYED", making a squad leader, killing some buffbots, and leaving.

They deleted it.
There were quite a few unhappy people, lots of folks cancelling accounts (or so they said). Many had 3 or more accounts they cancelled.
And yes, I commented on how the entertainer quests are now a "unique game experience." I got my part in
I said it was the same old missions, but now NPC's were there. And it was the same 2 objectives multiple times, then we get the new song or dance.
My point that I made is this: Why do we have to do these things to get new songs and dances?
Did Droid Engineers have to do a dozen missions to get all their new droid module schematics?
Did Bounty Hunters have to do half a dozen missions to free up their Master Scout certification?
Did Image Designers have to do a bunch of missions, after finding an Image Design Manager, in order to get new hairstyles?
Isn't it kind of odd that this "unique game experience" involves running around to random places (which some of us aren't very fond of, i mean don't we all have our favorite places to hang out, someplace people know where we are?) and interacting with NPC's, which we do all the time and is hardly a unique game experience? And this isjust to get something our professions deserve to just learn in the first place?
Eh, just found it sort of odd in general, and have thought so for awhile.
Don't get me wrong, I'm very much pleased we're getting something. I just think that those folks developing this game are a little out of touch with us entertainers. I know our correspondents are quite passionate about our professions, and I'm so thankful every day we have them respresenting us in this game. I don't think all of those higher ups realized how much people feel that their professions have stagnated. This feeling, I'm thinking, most likely comes from them focusing 4 of the last 4 publishes on 2 professions (though there were some things thrown in for other professions). Then, suddendly JtL takes all the resources away from this game. Now we all realize, we're not getting anything more for awhile.
oh well, back to the game lol

So, I've seen news on stratics that the post got undeleted, but locked.
I don't have any illusions that JTL bug fixing won't take another few months after JTL comes out before they update any of the ground game.
Blah, it's even more annoying as someone who doesn't have much interest in JTL to begin with.

Gah, JTL. I actually like the idea. But I can't believe it will be ready for prime time so soon.

That's what makes it a "unique game experience", no one else had to do it...

I would assume that the general feeling is that entertainers are more prone to social interaction and role-playing than combat professions, and therefore would require a storyline arc to capture their interest and add content for the professions. Of course, a storyline and quest system has almost nothing to do with face-to-face roleplaying, but perhaps they feel it could contribute if the community wanted that storyline as a backdrop?
As long as the quest is more interesting than difficult, I'm fine with their method of introduction. It gives the entertainer a post-master goal as well, something apart from the endless general grind that they were subjected to earlier in the profession.

Well, it's really only a post-master goal (thusfar) if you happen to already be a master when the quests go live. The only requirement to do the quests, and gain the new song or dance, is one box of music or dance in the entertainer trees.
We don't yet know if there will be a minimum skill level required for performing the new song or dance though. It would seem odd that at 0 1 0 0 (or 0 0 1 0 ) Entertainer that you would get a song or dance that you could not perform until Novice, or Master, but we've seen odd before. I don't know how many brand new entertainers I've met who ran to the bazaar and were able to buy a Nalargon, only to find out they wouldn't be able to play it until they were Master Musicians.
