Take the mandolin as an example. Its graphical flourishes are good enough for music in the "rock" style, but for something like ceremonial or jazz? Playing it with the teeth, or behind the back is just wrong for the more "peaceful" tunes (not to mention still getting sound from it when throwing it in to the air).
I am not asking to get new graphical flourishes, no I am asking that they remove the "wild ones" from the non-wild songs or all together. Copying in the "is not performing a flourish" animation would do.

All instruments have graphical flourishes that do not fit the songs, and fixing it should not be difficult. In fact, if all the graphical part of flourishes was removed and all we did was the basic animation for not performing one, I would not mind. It should be the sounds we make that got us peoples attention, not fancy moves.

I wand to hear my music. I am a MUSICIAN. This have nothing to do with hologrinding or anything like that.
I wand to perform, to entertain. And a "skill animation" that is not fitting the sound takes away from the show.

If you disable, sound... I've found the flourishes don't animate. So, just disable sound under options and you'll see your character do flourishes in system messages, but you won't witness the animations... I am not sure how this affects others watching you.
