Their arn't enough of these people in game so this type of activity is justified. Those professions are boring so I cannot expect anyone to actually do it live. Besides, its easier to deal with bots..get in, get out. No pesky conversation needed.

If you wanted to play a game that requires no interaction between players, brother, you picked the WRONG game.
Oh, and the professions you mentioned can be AFK'd to Mastery, true. However, their benefits can't be macroed. Good luck finding a ScoutBot that can trade and give you that meat you want from it, while it AFK harvests. In fact, try to trade with the AFK bio-engineer or artisan. Even if you could trade with them, do you really think they'll provide you with those services for free, possibly losing credits and time in the process? The AFK Marksman thing isn't even possible. At least, not if you change planets. It'd be exceptionally annoying too, because it would constantly be killing everything it could.
AFK leveling in Entertainer professions is the same problem every profession has with AFK leveling. It's not necessarily a good thing, but it's not something that will go away anytime soon, either. Not with the macro system the way it is.
The difference is, an AFK Master Dancer or Musician CAN provide their benefit/services while completely AFK and running a macro. Unlike the ScoutBot that can't trade you meat, and if it could it wouldn't want to chance you entering 1 credit in trade for 10000 meat, the Master Dancer or Musician provides you with a Master level benefit just by you typing /invite and /watch or /listen. That's a serious problem. And there are no economic drawbacks for Entertainer to AFK buff, so there's reason not to do it.
