Hi all im working on musician and having fun hanging out with the live people in the cantinas.. but I have some questions..
1)
I frequently see people request buffs but how can I buff someone if they are not grouped? I tried the /setperform and I see a message something like "you set your attention to %TT" (note: the %TT shows in the message, not the player I targeted) but nothing happens for them. I also did /setperform playername and got the same results. Since the group leader is often AFK until I can get ahold of them to take leadership.. we cant invite people for buffs.. and even when I am leader the group is often full..
2) Is it normal for the healing exp for the whole profession to be done when I have only trained 2 boxes of musician exp? (both first tier boxes btw)
3) Is there ANY way to kick someone from a group that shows (out of range) ??? we had 2 people like this last night and we couldnt get rid of them. They where not even online and after 6 hours they still where in group taking up space. Using the /dismissGroupMember command didnt work, nor did using the Kick button on the group. We ended up having to disband the whole group and reform to make use of those 2 slots.

1) That's some weird error thing. You need to make sure your buff customer is listening to you. then you do the /setperform command. You can buff if you flo once every 6 seconds or whatever, but your customer has to listen for 8 minutes. You can buff someone (a full buff) in 3 minutes and 10 seconds by floing once a second. You can get more information on in in Fragpuppy's thread about it on the boards somewhere. (I'm really bad at explaining this
)
2) Yeah, I guess it is. I had a lot of Ent Healing XP when I got novice, and I could train the first two boxes immediately.
3) I don't know about that. sorry.

There are two ways to buff people. One is the group method, and the other is with /setperform (or /setp), which does not require a group. To use /setp, the player should start listening to you. Then you should do a /setp target. You should each get a message about directiong your performance toward the target. Then you should flourish as necessary for the right amount of time, which can depend on your level. When enough time has passed, the listeninger should do a /stoplisten. They should then have the buff. Check the FAQ stickied on this forum, as well as the information in the knowledge database.2) Is it normal for the healing exp for the whole profession to be done when I have only trained 2 boxes of musician exp? This seems odd to me. The only near-masters I've run into had had all their musicianship boxes done for a while and just needed healing xp to finish up. Of course, if you've done dancing before, that healing xp is the same, so you could have some left over from there.

1. You need to be playing. they Listen(can't listen if your not playing eh) you /setp them You play and flourish a lot. They /stoplisten and the buff should be there. Pfft I've noticed a lot of times buffs can lag or something. aka people will say they didn't get the buff. And later for some reason it will show up. Hard to tell if they just don't know what to look for or if it's some sort of bug. I think it's some kind of bug myself as I seem to have it happen fairly often.
You can go here for a really good guide to buffing. http://www.swgentertainer.com/
2. No. Darn you. That is not normal. You got extrememly lucky there. Was there a CM around helping the group out ?
3. Yes you can kick people that are out of range.... some times. But there are lots of times when for some reason you just can't do it. /bug it when you get it cause that's just annoying.

1) I tried to follow the buff guide but it just didnt want to behave for me.. Ill try again tonight and see if I can get better results.
2) There where, at times a CM helping the group but at most that seemed to make it so we got a constant flow of 20s and 30s for exp instead of having the occasional period of no healing exp.. but even like yesterday when there was not the healing exp was going a ton faster than the musician exp.. and the requirements are far less as well. I have 1414 in Musician now.. which is kinda nuts imo lol. Im probably going to try and train Tech2 and craft mandovials till 3 and increase to the better exp schematic when possible to finish it out.
3) figures.. I tried every so often all day and couldnt kick those two.. (and they where not online even) I eventually reformed the group.. lost a few people due to them not having an auto-join.. but oh well.. got the group full again less than an hour later anyways.

That message is normal, and you just have to be careful with your targeting. It does work.

It used to be. Hasn't been that way generally for the last 6 months tho. It can happen in groups that wave lots of CM's tossing mind disease or that get an unusual amount of traffing in the healing department. You were lucky.

I've found that remote kick is unreliable at best. Sometimes it kicks a local player next on the list. I have also disbanded to remove them, or sent tells to people asking them to drop. Its a pain, but one we live with.
