Can they be played outside of the entertainment professions?

I'm interested in buying droids with playback modules so i can just add some more music into my gameplay, was wondering if it's possible for players who aren't entertainers to be able to play these.

Sorry. You need Novice Musician to use the playback module. Here is a small suggestion(as I ahve been doing this recently for fun to just get out of the freakin cantina) Hire a Musician to come wander around with you. When you stop at any places(I've been doing it at destroy missions with some friends) they can just start playing and jam away giving you theme music You need to look out to make sure nothing spawns on them and what not but pfft it it more entertaining then sitting in a cantina full of afk people

I love this idea!

Sure, it first made me think of the minstrels in Holy Grail, but after that chuckle it sounded really fun!
