All i would like is some new songs for us master musicians to jam to and soem new instruments. From what i know pub 9 stops afk entertainers but what about us as a professions. I have lost my love for this profession i have totally switched to playing my other character on eclipse.

FYI Pub 9 will not stop AFK entertainers. It will most likely reduce their number and hopeflly GREATLY reduce, but there will still be afks.

The Jedi changes in Pub 9 will not eliminate the profession grind, but will delay when you can start your Jedi character. After 9 before 10 you will be able to still continue the grind and even "unlock" the FSCS, however you will not be able to do anything with it until 10. Pub 10 will be the introduction of the Jedi quests, and the FINAL end of the grind.

There will be people who continue the grind, for no other reason then to have the slot ready to go at Pub 10. Also, do not discount the people grinding afk to get the profession. Whether to becone a true entertainer or a buffbot, they will still be there.

I love jamming with my fellow musicians. Playing that klithorn and jamming out that jazz. Oh ya can u feel it?

Sadly not any more. I rarely get the chance to talk to someone since everyone is afk and when i do it the whole "buff me i gotta run phrase." One thing that has TICKED me off since the first month is that to be able to play ceremonial and use the mando i have to dance my butt off and design characters. I wanted to be a musician not some dancing buffoon who falls evey 5 seconds . I love dancers dont get me wrong... but me dancing instead of jamming is a no-no and has been that way for almost a year. what can i say im stubborn :/.

Yes, I don't think even publish 10 will have much effect on AFK'ing. Buffbots and grinders will do it regardless. I hope I'm wrong.

Sharpshooter, my polling has always indicated that most Musicians agree with your top priority -- new songs. If I were the SWG Czar, I'd have pushed to have 50 songs in this game by now, not just 10. If we had that many songs, we'd actually have to pick and choose which to perform at gigs; we could take requests; the profession would be more fun, decreasing incentive to AFK; and there would be lots of non-Musician audience members who hadn't heard every song. There would be a reason to listen to us other than to get a heal or a buff. If I were Czar, I'd have put development and artistic time into that goal, with laser-like focus, from day one. Don't get me wrong, I like having our buff, and I'm chagrined that bugs like the player theater remain unfixed after all this time. But the songs make our profession, IMHO.

Anyway, don't hit that surrender skill button yet. Some sort of new song (or is it songs?) is coming with the Hutt Casino adventure. That's better than nothing.

I've been a master for quite a while, and I've given up hope on more songs and instruments. All I'd like is for SOE to get rid of buff-bots. Making us quest for more songs seems cool, but I wonder how bugged the quests will be? Or if we'll have to fight our way through to get new songs..
