Hey everybody. First post, but I hope it won't be my last.

Anyways, I just want to know what everybody thinks about forming and playing in permenant bands. Do you plan to do it? Do you think it's gonna help the entertainer profession? If you formed a band, what would the name be?

I plan to join one...maybe even form one. If I formed it, we would be the Galactic Rejects or the Cheese Willies (I'm leaning towards that first one )It sounds fun to have a close group that can really have organized entertainment. And maybe go on tour through all of the player-ran cantinas perhaps...

I'm curious to know your thoughts...and one last thing: for all of those on the Tempest server...try to check out my up and coming entertainer Rooney at the Kaadara Cantina in Naboo.

permanent bands and the like are great. It's nice to go on tour with people instead of just playing pickup sets in the cantina. It gives you excuses to go see other planets even if only to play in a cantina there. With a band you can actually sit down and practice flourish routines and make things sound like you're playing together. Also in a group you're probably just performing and not worrying so much about XP so bandflourish is an option as well. It's nice to see the sense of community that forms up around a group of people who play together on a regular basis.

Could be a cool idea. My band in real life has gotten into some interesting scrapes, (co-sighn for the equipment? I dint co-sighn for any equipment??) Maby you could have like two dedicated nights a week. A squad i was in on Aces high was like that. Everybody could wear the same uniform or something....hrrrmm interesting idea.

Tusken's Bane's very own Blue Bantha Band wears blue jumpsuits, hide boots, leather gloves, and multipocketed belts. And we look **edit** snazzy.

Mike, that sounds like a good costume. Are you open to having people come sit in?

Anyway, on topic:
I've been a member of a band for two weeks or so. This week we have three gigs scheduled, maybe that's too many. .. It might get to be a job if we have to spend more time than this at it

I'm having fun, but getting 11 people to all have fun together is tough on the third gig in 4 days ....

We've gotten nothing but good feedback from people both in the cantina and at our various gigs.

I've had the most fun while on gigs, and I encourage everyone to join a band.

My band has matchign outfits... Myself and Khrim both wear White Work Slacks, Formal Shirts, and Jackets with Black Dress Shoes while our dancer Belle wears a white dress and black shoes =) All Made by the talented Eviliro on Tatooine! If you're ever playing on Gorath and find yourself on Tatooine, send us a tell and we'd be gald to play for you =)

I periodically keep track of the people I meet in Cantinas, particularly if I meet them again in other ones, for the purposes of someday starting a band. I know Eclipse has a few already, I just have never been able to see them to promote myself as a potential member (schedule conflicts... I'm EST and I think alot are GMT).

I've already met a few folks that are great, and who are into entertaining along the same lines as I.

That's my goal. That's the reason I'm gunning for Master Musician. To me, that's the game within the game.I love this profession because of the people I meet who also like it. Those that do look for more to do in it than just hitting the same macro over and over (though sometimes that's necessary too).

Yes I regularly play in a permanent band, Astral Fantasia, on eclipse.
